Finally!!! I've done it!!! (windows only im still working on apple)
Finally you can type in chinese!! and for those that still don't know much you can read chinese now instead of those boxes!!! wooh!!
Read Directions Carefully or you'll mess it all up (trust me i know)
1. read all directions before doing anything first, because you are gonna need to exit out of everything since you will have to restart your computer.
2. press the "start button at the bottom left of the computer screen"
3. open the "control panel"
4. Date, Time, Language and Regional Options
5. Click on "add languages"
6. Go to the "languages" tab if you are not already in it.
7. Click on the "details"
8. Click "Add..."
9. for the chinese input keyboard, select "Chinese PRC" for the japanese keyboard select "japanese"
10. (im not sure if you have to reset yet but the computer will notify you) go to "key settings" and you can choose what buttons you'll use to change between keyboards.
11. any questions post them here.

For Windows XP users:
The setup is a little different. You can still add IME to type in Chinese/Japanese, but you need to install the package that includes the Asian languages font first. Luckily, it is pretty simple.
1. Go to control panel
2. Click Regional and Language Options
3. Click on the Languages tab
4. You should see a check box at the bottom of the text box saying "Install files for East Asian Languages". Click on the check box. A message saying that 200MB or so of space will be used to install the files. Click OK. You might need a Windows XP disc handy. Any Windows XP disc will do. It needs to copy some files off of it.
5. After that, you can install IME and language support by following steps 1-3 again, then click the button "Details" within the Languages tab.
