Greetings and welcome challengers to the Acadamy Wi-Fi League! The format for this League is based off that of the D/P Gaming Guild's Wi-Fi League, with the permission of Kyrenx. I am Zangaxel Tybalt, moderator of the Wi-Fi League and the Gym Leader of the replacement Gym, Twilight Castle. I am in fact pleased to see that you have taken an interest in our Wi-Fi League and hope you do challenge our Eight gyms with your best and strongest Pokemon Diamond and Pearl teams.

As with any true Gym League, here you will be facing off against our Gyms to earn badges made especially for this Wi-Fi League (eight in all to be precise), and once obtained, you will be renown throughout this guild as an Ace trainer, to whom of which when enough have gathered, will face off against each other to be crowned Champion!

To those returning to the League, you will notice quite a few changes in the League's set-up:

Quote:

1) No true order of Gyms
Exactly as it suggest, the gyms in our Wi-Fi League have no distinct order in which you will need to battle them in. So long as you meet each individual gyms prerequisites and rules/clauses, feel free to challenge any one you like first!

2) Differing Clauses
On top of the Standard Gym Clauses, each Gym Leader may choose to add or remove any Clauses they see fit, so before placing a challenge, please be sure to check all rules/clauses as any infringement of any listed rule(s)/clause(s) will result in your automatic forfeit of the match.

3) Challengers MUST register a team
In order to challenge the Wi-Fi Gyms, you must first register a maximum of one team of 8 non-Uber Pokemon (6 Standard Team + 2 Sideboard). This number is subject to change, but has been put into effect to provide a challenge for the challengers, as well as provide a semi-equal fairness between the Gym Leaders and the challengers as the Gym leaders themselves are restricted to using only pokemon of their selected type. Any and all challenges by someone who has not registered a team will be nullified. If you wish to change the roster of your team after it has already been registered, you must first obtain the permission of a Wi-Fi League Moderator or the ruling decision of the majority of all eight acting gym leaders whom will decide if the change is acceptable on a case-by-case basis. More updated information on team changes is listed below in the "Team Altering/Changing Policy", under the "League Registration" section.

I thought this could go without saying but clearly I was mistaken; Challengers may ONLY challenge the gyms with Pokemon they've registered and have had accepted by a Wi-Fi League Moderator. Failure to do so will have the match nullified despite the outcome.

Now with all of that aside, I wish you all the best of luck and await your arrival at my Twilight Castle to take on your challenges!

++ Standard Gym Rules ++

Unlike the huge free-for-all a lot of the other Gym systems are, this one has now been tuned with better rules.

1. Must have Wi-Fi capabilities and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.

2. Level 50/100 Battles.

3. Only 8 main gyms may be active at a single time.

4. Gyms must have a main theme/type.

5. Elites and Champion will be determined later.

6. Must follow the Standard Gym Clauses.

Any unofficial gyms posted in this section will be locked and deleted.

----------

++ Standard Gym Clauses ++

Uber Clause: The following pokemon are deemed to be unbalancingly powerful and are not allowed to be used: Arceus, Darkrai, Deoxys, Deoxys-A, Deoxys-D, Dialga, Giratina, Groudon, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Lugia, Latios, Latias, Manaphy, Mew, Mewtwo, Palkia, Rayquaza, Wobbuffet and Wynaut. I thought this had to go without saying but Shaymin is also banned as it has not officially been released.

Big 5 Clause: The Big 5 are allowed, but no more than one Big 5 may be on a Registered Team.

Self KO Clause: Your Pokémon cannot use moves like Explosion or Self-Destruct to win if it's the only Pokémon remaining on your team. The same applies for Perish Song and Destiny Bond.

Sleep Clause: The sleep clause means that you cannot put 2 enemy Pokemon to sleep at the same time. This means, if you put my Gengar to sleep, and I switched out for Arcanine, you cannot put Arcanine to sleep until Gengar has woken up. However, if you KO the sleeping Pokemon (Gengar in this case), feel free to use your sleep moves again. Please note, that Pokemon who have induced their own sleep, commonly through using Rest, then that does not count towards the clause.

Evasion Clause: One of the most questioned clauses, but it's right up there with Uber and Sleep for importance. Basically, this clause means you cannot use evasion increasing moves like Double Team and Minimize. This clause has appeared due to the fact that any Pokemon who can use TMs can learn double team, and there's no way to get rid of the evasion bonuses except through the move Haze, or if the opponent switches out. Further leading to the unfairness of double team is the fact that after 2 uses, only about 60% of your attacks can hit the foe at all and to finish it off, double team can be baton passed to a stronger, faster or sturdier Pokemon.

Species Clause: This clause means you can't have more than 1 of the same Pokemon (or any of it's same evolutionary chain) on your team. This is mainly used just because it's kind of annoying to see 4 Garchomps or a Charmander and Charizard or something ridiculous like that. This clause is oftentimes not used, but will normally be active during tournament play. This clause of course does not effect the use of multiple Eeveelutions or any other pokes with optional evolutions.

OHKO Clause: Moves like Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill and Sheer Cold are banned from use as the only surefire counter to OHKO moves is to have a focus sash/focus band, an ability that prevents them, or to not get hit by them. While some may argue there's only a small chance of getting hit by them, this only makes it even more frustrating when a player that's better than another loses. Because moves like these require more luck than skill to use, they are typically banned.

One Legendary Rule: Only one legendary Pokemon may be used per team, per battle.

No Pokesav Rule: No Pokemon created by Pokesav (whether they're within the natural limits or not) are allowed to be registered into any teams for this Wi-Fi League challenge. Since it is hard for us to check most teams for illegitimate Pokemon, this rule will primarily be based upon the honor system, so if you want a battle involving Pokesav'd Pokemon, please take your request to the Wi-Fi Battling section. Also, all Pokemon registered in the Wi-Fi League are subject to inspection by any of the Wi-Fi League Moderators, if any complaints arise about any suspicious Pokemon any of the challengers may have. Failure to follow this rule can result in having your earned badges stripped and possible removal from being allowed to challenge the Wi-Fi League entirely.

++ League Registration ++

Well then, there is no possible way of us knowing that you wish to seriously compete in this Wi-Fi League and be added to the registration list without you personally letting us know. And to do so, before posting in ANY of the gyms, you will need to first register your team here! In order to register a team, all you will need to do is post in this thread with the following information or PM me:

+ Your Gaia User Name
+ Your D/P/P Friend Code (You must post this. Trainer cards in signatures do not count)
+ 8 Non-Uber Pokemon you wish to register (a maximum of two legendaries per registered team)

Details on registered Pokemons' movesets, natures, etc. are NOT required.

I thought this would go without having to be said but you must announce your entire team (main team + sideboard) at the time of registration. Any teams with "TBA" responses as their answer(s) will always have their registration requests declined.

Choose your team carefully! Just because the standard gym clauses listed above are in effect, most gyms also have their own individually selected clauses in effect as well, so please review each gyms rules before registering. Most notably, the Big 5 Clause is forcing many trainers to fight certain gym leaders at a handicap, so if you wish to avoid fighting 4v6/5v6 battles, please choose your Pokemon carefully!

Once you've done that, just wait for one of our Wi-Fi League moderators (not Guild crew members!) to accept your registration before you go out and start placing challenges to the gyms.

----------

++ Team Altering/Changing Policy ++

Once you have a registered team that has been approved by one of the Wi-Fi League moderators, for those who have earned a max of three (3) gym badges and under, team changes will cost you a Poke Coin ( ), to of which, every player will be given two (2) upon accepted registration, allowing the max of two (2) free Pokemon changes (at the rate of one Coin per Pokemon). For team changes beyond these first two, one random gym badge will be taken per Pokemon change (at the rate of one Badge per Pokemon). If you have not earned any gym badges and/or have spent all Poke Coins and earned badges, additional team changes will be deemed free. For the cost of team changes to those whom have earned four (4) or more gym badges, one random gym badge will be taken per Pokemon change (at the rate of one Badge per Pokemon).

Just to further clarify, all team changes must still be approved by the Wi-Fi League moderators and any battles fought with Pokemon that have not been registered, will be terms for an automatic forfeit on the challenger's behalf.

From now on, all Pokemon team changes resulting from evolution will be deemed free and will not require the spending of any Poke Coin(s) or the loss of any Badge(s) for Team changing purposes.

It means you can register 8 Pokemon. 6 in your party, and two in reserve just in case you want to switch. Gym Leaders, Elete Four, and Champions may use as many Pokemon as they wish.

Gym Pokemon may be any level, but it is recommended that they be at least Level 50. In D/P/P, any Pokemon that is OVER lever 50 and entered in a Level 50 Battle will be reduced to Level 50 for that battle. (No need to worry, their levels will return to normal afterwards)
