Charlaine Harris is an excellent author, and I have to say that I think the Sookie Stackhouse series is the best series I've read in a very long time.
I'm currently on the third book in the series, Club Dead, and apparently it only gets better.
Anyone else reading or read the series?
If you've not read the series, you should wink
Edit: I have now finished the first five books, but haven't got time to read any more just yet... will edit again later.

lol you know i've read it. it really is an addicting series.
i read the pendragon series which is 10 books long and got tired of hearing
about some of the characters over and over, but this series is only 1 book away from being as long and i admit i never got tired of it.

Rune Wynn lol you know i've read it. it really is an addicting series. i read the pendragon series which is 10 books long and got tired of hearing about some of the characters over and over, but this series is only 1 book away from being as long and i admit i never got tired of it. Bubba...lol XD Haha! Good old Bubba! (I typed Bubble then, and had to change it, lol). I was reading earlier and he came into the scene and I was laughing at the mental imagery of Sookie with Elvis! ><

Especially seeing as I simply cannot get hold of September's book, Vampire kisses. England is making it impossible to find the novel version, I can only get the manga. -Is sad- crying

(for me at least) They don't do eBooks at the library sad There's an online catalogue of all the books that the libraries have in our entire city, and then you can get them sent to your local library so you can pick them up. But they don't have it at all!! crying

I have, so far, read everything in the Sookie Stackhouse series except for the most recent novel. I picked up the first one because someone else I knew was reading it, and I pretty much got sucked in from the first book. XD

Cause honestly, I don't like Sookie too much.
She to whiney.
I read the first book and stuff, but frankly.

I read the series and liked it, but it took starting from the beginning again before i truly got into it .To be honest i only started reading it for the vampires,it was later as i read more that i appreciated it.
I had read the other Charlene Harris books and loved them.The Sookie Stackhouse novels are worth reading.I plan to reread them again soon.

Alucards Little Pet I have, so far, read everything in the Sookie Stackhouse series except for the most recent novel. I picked up the first one because someone else I knew was reading it, and I pretty much got sucked in from the first book. XD I know what you mean. I was sucked in as soon as Bill saved Sookie from the Rattrays!

yeah it stays in her point of view the whole time. Sookie never really came off as whiny too me. though i suppose that's because I had read Twilight before this series and Sookie was a reprieve from Bella for me for sure. now there's a whiner.
But i got more into the books for the world their in then Sookie in particular. She's a pretty tough chick for all the crap she goes through in the books. she doesn't play damsel in distress well, but she can be one, but Harris certainly puts the character through the hoops. There are times when you're screaming for Bill or someone to save her, but no one does. or the friend becomes a fast enemy. or someone you weren't expecting helps her out.
I have to say, if you've seen the show TrueBlood on HBO (the show based on the books) that you should read the series before you take in the show. The 2nd season is far from the 2nd book, which is sad, as most interpretations can be.
Now the Sookie on the show is not how I really see Sookie from the books. She's a bit dim witted on the show compared to her book persona.
