Hello there! I know that there are tons of these annoying threads in the VG forum, but those are flooded with silly little people who leave one word posts and troll at everyone.

This is a place where PA Guild members can discuss our favorite video games, least favorite, whatever.

I'll start!

My favorite genre is the RPG. The Final Fantasy series, Wild Arms 2, Xenogears/Xenosaga... I'm a big fan. But by far my favorite RPG is definetely, without a doubt, Suikoden II. Fortunately I got it early for $20 on the recommendation of a friend... these days it goesfor at least 70 bucks on eBay, but if my copy were to get destroyed somehow, I would gladly pay that much for another. It took everything from Suikoden and made it better (unfortunately the same cannot be said for Suiko III, but Suiko IV looks promising). If you like RPGs you really MUST play it. I also love strategy RPGs- Final Fantasy Tactics and FFTA are two of the finest games ever made, in my ever so humble opinion. I'm a La Pucelle fan, too, but unfortunately I never managed to get my hands on Disgaea.

Non-RPGs are certainly not excluded from my affection, however. Kingdom Hearts (I guess you could call it an action RPG, but whatever), Jak & Daxter, Grand Theft Auto, Mario Kart, Soul Calibur, Metal Gear Solid, Smash Bros... all great games. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the finest non-Sonic side scroller that I've ever played.

The quirky stuff is great, too: Have any of you played Ape Escape, or perhaps it's fine sequel, Ape Escape 2? You run aorund with a net and catch monkeys with little helmets on. You can actually see the helmets they were in one of the shops here on Gaia, actually. some weild boxing gloves, some weild machine guns, some fly UFO's, and still others man giant gunning stations. You would not believe how much FUN it is to capture monkeys. And who can forget Gitaroo Man? Probably most people, considering it's not very well known at all, but that is the funnest musical game ever. Unfortunately the poor sales and low visibility in the states sorta guarantees we'll never see a sequel... *curses all who didn't buy it*

Then there's Animal Crossing. Jesus ******** christ, it's worse than crack. You just can't stop playing. Every day is different. The time of day is synchronous with the real world's clock. Is it Christmas in real life? Well, open your damn presents, then go play Animal Crossing for some celebratory action and special items you can only get on that day. Collect...

Well, I think I should sotp tlaking about that now, or I'll sound like I'm just advertising for it XD

BUT, despite all this greatness, from the mind-boggling philosophical and religious themes in Xenogears and Xenosaga to the delivering of a glasses case to some weird looking animal, Sonic the Hedgehog stands out above them all.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the first videogame I ever owned- it came with my gorgeous, beautiful Genesis. (I have an older version with the volue control tucked away nice an mint in a box, too ^_^) Even today I'll occasionally just sit down and play it through in an hour and 30, and I STILL love every second of it. I love all of the old Genesis Sonic games, so you can imagine I was rather ecstatic upon the release of the Sonic Mega Collection. Really, any Sonic fans have to get it.

ANYWAYS. There's my extremely long rant (which I am tempted to extend yet further) about some of the greatest games I've ever played.

I like..um...fighting games...SNK forevah. And RPG's are always god.

Though I'd never say no to playing NHL Hitz 2003.

I hate Kingdom Hearts and I love survival horror (Silent hill and Fatal Frame!)

I love RPGs and strategy games. Final Fantasy series, Morrowind, Baldur's gate... Those are some of my favorite games right there. smile

I enjoy the regular RPGs around here, but I have the most fun with fighting games, especially SMB Melee and Soul Calibur 2.

Melee: I'll ownz you with Marth

Soul Calibur: I'll ownz you with Maxi

My favorite GC game at the moment is Prince of Persia. While it's not a very recent game, I still haven't fuggin beaten it! So that's my focus on the games right now.

Melee: Zelda/Sheik is unstoppable!

SCII: Take your pick. I'll pwn you.

*points and laughs* I like using mostly female fighters..but I'm pretty even in most of them.

Amber: One of my friend's characters is Sheik. I must concede that Sheik kicks some serious a**.

Lance: I know how you feel. My brother-in-law, who's hardly played the game at all, always gives me huge trouble as Cassandra. Stupid b***h.

Yipes... I hate it when parents don't let their kids play video games >_<
