Gah! I recently started taking high rank guild quests and honestly, I'm fed up with requests to fight Shen Gaoren, Not only is it annoying as hell to fight but its set as an urgent twice, at the fort and at the town
Why does this town not have any hunters?
Why must I fight this gigantic crab??

Aww... Don't be crabby! HAHA!!!
No, I guess they just don't have competent hunters. I have yet to get to any Shen Gaoren quests but I am sure I'll agree with you when I do get there.

Why must I fight this gigantic crab?? well i figured out u dont have to kill the monster just stall the thing but take a quake resistance armour like blangonga and just make it flinch to the point to wear it cant kill the town our fort in enough time

I actually Killed Gaoren myself, so I'll give ya some tips. First, fill up ur Balista ammo and get a cannonball and take it to the cannon on the left. Then, wait for Gaoren to get lined up. After u hit him with the cannon, use the Ballista to attack the legs. They can be broken twice, so use that. After using up all the ammo, go back and get some more and another cannon ball. use the cannon on the right this time, and wait for him to get lined up. If it's standing, wait for him to get close. If crouched, wait for him to get far. also, be sure to use the Dragonator when ya have the chance. after u use this cannonball and Ballista ammo, jump down and take the fight to him. like Reckless Mayhem said, use a quake resistant armor. Gaoren is also weak to fire, so use something like the Wyvern Blade "Fall" or the Saber (if ya like LS) get all the legs bright red, then make him flinch one last time. he'll fall down to ur level. attack the face, but make sure ur weapon is sharp before ya do. cuz his face is tougher than his legs. when he get's back up, keep attacking the legs and you should do it. I haven't fought him at the fort yet, but just adapt the strategy above to use as you see fit.
