A large desert seems to stretch endlessly before you. there is a rumor about a great magical artifcat hidden beneath it somewhere. In ancient times there were citites all over this desert, all covered by sand now. The power that had protected their citites from the desert had faded, and was only strong enough to protect their most precious treasure, so somewhere beneath the sand lies a shrine, still protected by the magic, and within it is a powerful weapon. The entrance to this shrine is said to be hidden within one of the few oasis in the desert, but is hard to get to, for all of the oasis have dangerous creatures and spells still lingering on them that have not died yet.

 Max growled in frustration. He had been searching this stupid deserted for moths and was almost out of water again. How was he supposed to find this "all powerful weapon" that he heard about when it appeared that the oasis's themselves were impossible to find. He knew that a few of them had spells on them to keep them hidden, but the other one's shouldn't be this hard for him to find. He shook his canteen and sighed, his mouth was dry and his water wouldn't last another day. He knew he'd have to turn back soon.

 *he stood on the dun with sand whipping everywhere around him looking for max as he was hired to do. he spotted him and started towards him*  *he sat on a stool in the local oasis bar drinking his orange water wondering if he made the right choice in the mercenary he hired to track down his old traveling companion*

Koda walked along wondering if he would ever find his way back to town, he had been lost for the past few days crossing from dune to dune trying to find something he could call a landmark.

Max caught something in the corner of his eye and turned to see something rushing through the sand towards him. He couldn't tell who it was and pull out his gun just in case. He stood there, pistol ready, waiting for whoever it was to catch up with him.

*he dredged through the sand to get to max with is canteen in his hand. he hands it to max when he reaches him* you would be called max correct?

Taking the canteen and drinking it almost greedily, Max looked at the man suspicously, "Ya, and I don't suppose you'd have given me the water if you wanted to kill me, so who are you and what's up with that get up?"

you are correct if i wanted to kill you ide leave you out here. who i am is not important what is important is my job, which is to bring you back to the oasis safely. and as for my gear it allows me to survive out here

"It would be great if you could get me back to the oasis," he handed the man's canteen back and smiled, glad that he might havean easier way of finding his way back, "But could you tell me who hired you?"

"Oh, sorry about," Max laughed, putting his away, "I haven't heard from Gill in awhile. I can't believe he'd come all of the out here to find me." H looked up at the sun, "If we're going to go anywher then it should be soon, the day is only going to get hotter."

"Hey, thanks man," Max started stuffing food into is mouth and looked at the man again. The outfit was the strangest thing he had ever seen, but that could have been because he spent most of his time in desers or forests away from people.
