I actually haven't read the manga yet =x. I've seen a few scans though, and I can already tell that I prefer the character design in the anime. I've also read that a lot of the 'fairy tale story' element is left out of the manga... but then again, how much could they really fit in there? It's only two volumes long x___x.
I'd have to say anime (and for your poll, Fakir and Ahiru/Duck all the way). heart

I own the two manga volumes of Princess Tutu and compared to what I have seen of the anime, I prefer the anime to the Manga. Sure, the manga was pretty cute and awesome, but nothing compared to the anime version. Although one thing I like about the manga is I can re-read the momment Fakir saved the duck version of Ahiru from the lake over and over again ninja *Ish suports FakirXAhiru*
I whited it out just to be safe and respectful to those who haven't seen it xD

In the manga, Edel has a COMPLETELY different role, character, and look. It loses a lot of the fairy-tale mood, but the art is good, and it gives it a whole new twist. I'd say they did a pretty good job on the manga, but the Anime, in my opinion, is still better. There's music, and that in itself is what makes Princess Tu Tu unique and ultimately something to go down in history.!

I haven't read the manga either yet, so i can't say for sure
But Princess Tutu was an anime first then a manga later, ne? In most cases like this, the anime is usually always better

I think, being it with ballet and music...that anime would be a way better choice. Maybe the drawing is better in the manga or somthing. But the joy of hearing the music play as they dance is a perfect fit for this kind of story. heart

I haven't read the manga though, so I can't say much about plot differences. You do have a point though, the music is a big part of drawing the viewer in, as PT does so well.

I love both, but i don't think I can say which one I like better. The plots are along the same lines, but they are also pretty different! In the manga, Ahiru doesn't turn into a duck and there aren't any animal students. I love them both!!! heart heart heart heart

I have seen/read both, and I like the anime better...but then again, that's very obvious, considering the length differences of the two.
The plots of the two, as for the events, are very much similar except for the ending (very much so from what I've seen in AMVs) and they are put in different order. I also like the anime better cuz of the music (duh) and the art (I think it suits it better).
I also like the anime better cuz there's more FAKIR! (Fakir is hardly in the manga... crying )

The manga isn't as captivating as the anime. I mean...what's ballet without movement or music!? eek
I still liked the manga though. It was cute and...it was Princess Tutu.
