You are about to rip your hair out by the roots. Kids are screaming and fighting. You haven't had adult conversation with anyone that didn't concern some sort of "honey-do-list" or "don't forget about Sara's soccer game tomorrow and Nate has theater before that you need to pick him up and don't be late for kick off".
You finally find a baby sitter, a new one, because your little hel-er, sweeties have scared marred, sent to the psy-ward Tired the others all out with their kind and generous actions.
What do you do get a little -much-needed- you time?
A little candles? shopping? man/pedicure? how about a nice romantic evening out?
Here I would like to discuss, your different tips and tricks to keeping your own sanity, and the sheets crumpled at night.

Amazing idea! For me its Art and Video games. That may sound immature but when I start a new game on the Wii like Twilight Princesses I get caught up in it and don't think about all the thinsg waiting for me whan I shut it off. Same as when I paint, everything fades away and I'm in my own little world. Its completely wounderful

For me, I keep my sanity going to the gym and working out and coming home and calming down playing on Gaia. I have to say snuggling with the hubby helps for sanity too.....wait that is how I got here....hrmm smile

Eric is great at helping me keep my sanity, he gives me foot massages and runs me lavender baths with candels and bubbles as surprises when I have long days.
when I need a break like NOW I usually grab a book, or work on book lol, creative breaks help me a lot.
chatting with other parents helps me too makes me feel understood and everything and they understand the whole "I need a REAL conversation" thing lol

I am a stay at home mom now, not by choice. My hours at work got cut to nothing so I decided to go back to college. Now I take college classes online and stay home with my 2 year old Alex. I was having problems with feeling like I lost me somewhere along the way. No adult conversations, no time to myself and no breaks from being mommy. My husband is awesome but I think he feels overwhelmed when he walks in the door and I'm all "Talk to me, I haven't had a conversation all day!" Between doing homework and doing my best to be a good wife and mother, I felt like there wasn't time for me.
Then I found Gaia Online and it's been awesome!
Besides that, I go for walks. I was working on a novel but I've finished it and am about ready to submit it. The only problem with that was towards the end it started to feel like another job I had to do.
