Yeah, so far all I have seen by Masume Shirow is Ghost in the shell and Apple seed, is there anything else by him that is good?

Director Shinji Aramaki will also be directing the sequel to the 2004 movie, titled Appleseed Ex Machina, which is set to be released in fall 2007 in Japan. The movie will once again feature animated computer-generated imagery and John Woo is fully involved in the production.

There have been re-releases of Appleseed, Dominion Tank Police, and Orion. The trade paperback is smaller than the original, though (*sulk*). Try Dominion Tank Police...it's more slapstick than GITS.
