Okay, I know this is a little risky, but here's the deal: I'd like a place on Gaia where I can discuss religion with people casually, if you will. Where we can say what we believe and found out what others think, without having to agree with each other on everything. I am a Christian (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) but I like talking to people of almost any religion. (Yeah, not big on Satanism or wiccan, no offense to anyone reading this.)
Would that be okay here in Hyrule Legacies, or would you guys rather keep religion off the forums?

No, I completely agree. I'm talking about mature, sensible discussion, not "Bible bashing". razz If it gets out of hand, I'll try to be the first to say, "Kay, nuff nao, thxbai."

Is cool. As I said, this is hopefully going to be a discussion, not a shouting match. I don't agree with atheism, but I also don't agree with paganism, and one of my friends is a pagan, and we enjoy discussing religion. We all are allowed to talk, and we're all allowed to say, "I don't agree with you, but that's all right." Okay, my sentences were way too long there.

One of my friends made the comment that most religions have something like the Golden Rule: to be kind to others. What do you think? Is that a wise way to live?
I would say yes. I'm far from perfect at living that way, but to do so increases the help people receive, even if it's just due to a smile that brightens their day. And I think it decreases one's own anger or frustration to serve others willingly. If it's not willing but because you feel you have to, you can easily sicken of it.
Yes, serious topic. razz

I know from experience with this guild that we've always had friendly debates on a number of topics without arguing and bashing each other. I think it's okay to say that religion is safe to discuss in this guild.
I do love intelligent discussion anyway. biggrin
Ok so onto your question.
I agree with you. I believe in that rule too, "Treat others the way you want to be treated," "Ask and you shall receive." That all falls under being kind to others.
I believe that if you treat others kindly, you will receive the same treatment.
And yes, if they feel obligated to, then only the person receiving will be happy, not the one who unwillingly gave. Well, maybe they might be a little happy for giving, but maybe not completely. It all depends I guess. Haha.
