Newford: the modern day Vampire Hotspot. It's been five years since they "came out of the coffins" and things have yet to cool down, politically, emotionally, and even morally. Terrorist attacks ran rampant among the humans, even as the hate crimes rose to staggering proportions in the Vampire community.

There are factions on both sides that volley for preternatural rights, and against them. The vampires themselves have no lack for food, but the Vampire Council has set down 10 Laws that will be followed:

1) A vampire must not kill a human in it's feeding; it must retain control and curb the blood lust.

2) Any coven meetings that are hosting feasts must provide enough food that the humans are not drained dry.

3) A vampire must not kill a human in cold blood; it is to immoblize and neutralize the threat, nothing more.

4) A vampire may not turn another human without the express permission of the Council, as well as the human's full cooperation.

5) A vampire who does make a new vampire, whether on purpose, or by accident, will be required to care for it directly and condition it.

6) A vampire must follow it's countries laws and regulations.

7) A vampire must follow it's District Sheriff's laws and regulations

cool A vampire must follow it's Maker's laws and regulations, until the Maker releases them.

9) A vampire may not "mind ********" a mortal.

10) A vampire may not glamor, charm, hypnotize, or otherwise incapacitate a human's thought process unless the vampire is being attacked by the human in question.

The Council made it clear that any violations of anyone of the laws would be punishable by True Death of itself, and the entire line. For now, the human government has not overtly interfered with the vampire's ruling Families, or it's legal operations.

This is where we come in: we must choose a side, choose a faction. Be ye Vamper, or be ye human?...

RULES:
1) Follow Guild TOS
2) Follow Gaia TOS
3) Try and keep things under NC-17 (*Cough*Mollie*Coughcough*)
4) Romance and what not is encouraged. NOTE: if enganging in an affair, do a "curtain scene" or a time skip. No one wants to see that.
5) Have fun. It's not my best, but I tried. Sorry, guys. ^^"

Here's just a quick little character lay out for ya'll. PM it to me with "Newford" as the title:

ACCEPTED CHARACTERS:

Gaia name: Drisil
Character name: Eve
Race: Vampire
Age: 409, next month
Description: Dresses only in the latest fashion, highly self conscious of herself and her actions
Background: Her original name is lost to time. After a vampire is turned, back then at least, it was tradition to take a new name to go by. A sort of "your old life is dead, here's to the new one," kind of a thing. Eve had always had a thing with the Bible; Eve seemed to be a natural choice. Unlike most people back then, she made a logical decision to be changed. This way, she got to pick her terms, her age, her situation; Eve was turned when she was just on the cup of adulthood. Her maker, Cain, trained her as he was supposed to and then Released her out of a kind of love. Eve almost immediately killed him. Again, it seemed logical to do: kill the killer before he can get you, too. After that, well, the rest was history.
Feelings on coming "out of the coffin": A bad thing to do. Now there are all of these rules to follow where there were only onethen: Don't be caught.

Gaia name: Twilight_Vampiress1676
Character name: Anya Marie Severson
Race: Human
Age: 19
Appearance: Anya
Background: Anya came from a dysfunctional family, and technically would be classified as the “emo type”. Although she is not that fond of cutting, she did it when she got extremely desperate. After the abuse of her last boyfriend, and being raped constantly by her stepfather she ran away…and was tracked down by him, but only to be saved by a tall, dark handsome stranger…..
Feelings on coming "out of the coffin": Not yet, since she is human. wink

Gaia name: Zarlinda
Character name: Cain Kirchhoff
Race: Vampire
Age: 853
Appearance: Cain
Description: He's the smart, sophisticated, mysterious type. Although he's got the body shape and aloofness you see in the beginning of romance novels, he is not a nice person and is rather gruff and uncaring about others. The only respect he gives is what others earn from him, but he shows his own form of respect to others until they prove to him they deserve more or less of it. Also, he hates it when people say “you must respect me because I am better or older than you.” He doesn't expect others to trust him and doesn't trust others in return.
Background: After being on earth for eight and a half hundred years, he's grown to see more of the world than he particularly could have cared to. Before becoming a vampire, he wanted to travel the world, and it was one of two things he kept from his human form once he was turned. Needless to say, he performed the action and lived in each area for a few years before moving on. He knows nearly 30 different languages, but his favorite is Russian, after his master's home country. His master had been a ruthless, strong, brusque female by the name of Jaundice. As far as he knows, she is still around, haunting Russia's nightclubs for prey. After becoming a businessman, his fortune grew and he's now particularly wealthy but tries to hide the fact.
Feelings on coming "out of the coffin": “The previous rules no longer apply, and I am not a contender for the like of change. Humans repulse me with their frailty and now we are forced to let them live. Pity.” -Cain Kirchhoff, June 30.

Her entrance caused quite a stir. Or rather, it stopped all stirs. All conversations, all movements, all signs of life...paused. As a collective figure, air from every individual let out in a sigh and life returned. Eve cast her scornful eye over these mortals, who had every right to fear her. They had no idea what she could, or couldn't do. For all they knew, she was newly dead. Eve smiled mentally.

The hostess of the restaurant was looking at her still, and seemed to be hardly listening to the customer in front of her who kept shooting Eve covert looks over her shoulder. Finally, it was the young vampire's turn. It was Eve's turn to breath now; she sucked in just enough air into the old, dead lungs inside of her to form words.

"Table for three, please. My companions will be joining me shortly. Preferably somewhere in the back."

The woman gave a tiny little nod of acknowledgement and started to grab three menus, but hesitated. This almost made Eve smile. No one knew how to act around vampires, ever. Not matter that they'd come "out" almost five years ago. In the end, she grabbed the menu's and motioned for Eve to follow her. She wondered if the child was mute. All too soon they reached the table, in a dark, dank little corner. Eve used up the last of the air in her lungs and thanked the silent women. She took the seat with the best view of the restaurant, and closed her eyes, focusing on the "smell" of blood, fresh or hidden, in the room while she waited.

[so, I am gonna start with the drama, since she has obviously not met the vampire yet....since that is Kat's character....XD So I would say to not post until she gets on and does....or I can take in your post to her tomorrow, and have her write one up and give it to me.....]

She clawed at her stepfather, trying to wrench away from his hold. He held her down, deflecting her hits, not phased at all. But she was still in pain.

He grinned as he molested her, got his pleasure out of using her body as his toy. After her mother died, he didn't have anything better to do anyways.

Anya lay crumpled on the floor again, and she struggled to her feet just as her step father was about to grab her and go for another round.

She quickly grabbed a skirt and a camisole tank top and slipped on her converse and ran out into the ran, her stepfather close behind, not stopping at all.

She had finally gotten rid of her abusive boyfriend, but was now trying to find a way out of the family situation.

Anya ran, her hair plastered to her head, and she was shivering from the cold rain and the lack of clothing on her body.

Fear... it pounded in the veins of so many in the night that it was almost ecstasy itself. The drug no longer had an effect on him, and it was a damn pity. No drug... but blood... held sway over him now. Addiction, after years of being alone, was a major problem of his, as per obvious to all the money he'd blown on drugs to zap himself into a mindless state to forgo the remembrance that he was no longer alive. It was almost saddening.

Nares flared from where he crouched upon the roof of a townhouse, gut warm with the groans he heard coming from both newly wed couples beneath the shingles. Lips curled in a snarl as he suddenly bent in a flash. The intent had been to rip open one of the bedroom windows, but a new scent wrenched his concentration. Fear, sex, endorphins, raging hormones, stress... aw, it would be euphoria to stink his fangs into that. His gaze snapped to the little Missy carrying just such burdens with her and he was enticed with blood lust. It would be ecstasy to drain her dry after pretending to take her under his wing, then scare her of his own making while taking her pounding blood... The grin that spread across his face was nothing short of the sickest malicious thing ever seen, macabre thoughts speeding through his head as if he were on coke again.

Flipping down from his perch, he rested near the bend in the road behind a wall of bushes. Since he'd been out in the rain already, he looked the part of a bedraggled man mucking his way through the storm. Truth be told, Cain loved hunting in the rain. It was exhilarating, especially when the humans slipped and crashed into the ground. Their adrenaline pumped so hard after those mistakes that it was a wonder he could contain himself from sinking his fangs into them right then and there in the chase. But that took away the fun. For him, the best part was hearing their hearts race, their blood pound, smell the sweat and adrenaline. Ooh, fun, fun, fun!

As she rounded the corner, he took note of her skimpy clothing and his eyebrow raised as he caused her to crash headlong into him. Arms outspread, he pretended to fold in around her and fall back upon the waterlogged concrete, her body pressing into his. With hope, she wouldn't connect the cold of his body with anything other than the rain's effects. Looking down his nose at her, he pierced her with strong blue eyes and sucked in a breath. “I didn't know women were so forward these days,” he said with a chuckle, his voice as low as the thunder than rumbled immediately overhead.

Anya flushed a bright red when she realized what had just happened. The man she had just ran into, after she looked at him more, she realized he was hauntingly beautiful.

She quickly got to her feet,
"Sorry....I didn't mean to....I wasn't watching where I was going....."

The girl cast her eyes to the ground, but instantly, they shot up as she spun around, her whole form shaking as her stepfather caught up to her, grabbing her by the shoulders.

There you are, you little monster....now I can finish what I started....." He then looked up at the man Anya ran into just moments before, "Whaddaya starin at? Punk?"

Anya was frightened, her wide green eyes filled with fear as her gaze went from one man to the other. All she wanted was for the torture to end."Oliver....stop.....just----"

The drunken man slapped her across the face and threw her to the ground as he glared up at Cain, before starting to retreat back down the alleyway that he came from.

The restaurant door dinged open. Eve knew. She couldn't see them yet, but she knew. Quiet as the proverbial death, the couple drifted towards her back table.

"Arcadia. Winter."

"Eve."

"How are you?"

From the sound of their milky smooth voices, Eve guessed they had taken their seats already. Her eyes opened, proving her conjectures to be true. She sat up, primly now in the face of peers. It was acceptable to lag abed with minors and mortals around, but a self-respecting vampire never slouched when face with other vampires. Especially an Ancient, like Arcadia.

The vampire in question had her legs crossed to one side. Her leg, sculptured by the tight sheen of stockings, its long line running straight, over an arched instep, to the tip of her foot in a high-heeled pump, had a feminine elegance that seemed out of place in the dusty, dank restaurant corner, and oddly incongruous with the rest of her. She worse a battered camel's hair coat that had been expensive, wrapped shapelessly about her slender, nervous body. The coat collar was raised to the slanting brim of her hat. A sweep of brown hair feel back, almost touching the line of her shoulders. Her face was made of angular planes, the shape of her mouth clear-cut, a sensual mouth held closed with inflexible precision. She kept her hands in the coat pockets, her posture taut, as if she resent immobility, and unfeminine, as if she were unconscious of her own body, and that was a woman's body.

Eve didn't bother to answer Winter's question. He was younger then her. A surprise that he was even there, until you considered Arcadia and her tastes. She liked her vampires young, her bodyguards younger, and her men youngest. She was a cradle robber of the utmost sneakiest kind: the kind that promised love and fulfilled it.

"We need to talk. Have you heard any rumors about a Cain?"

Flashes of blood, sex and violence whistled through Eve's head at the mention of the name. She shook her head once. A negative.

"No. Is there a new one around?"

"Apparently has been for a little while."

Arcadia pursed her red painted lips. Eve thought the color suited her nicely.

"A recluse, though. Hunting on the edge, if you understand me."

Eyes narrowed, the Russian Vampire didn't think to take it easy on the human man as he shot forward, appearing in front in the reaches of his path. Taking the girl's other arm from where she dangled in the now surprised man's grasp, he snarled, fangs bared in the man's face. He checked to make sure the girl was unaware of this fact before opening his mouth to speak evenly, quietly into the man's ear. "You have something that now belongs to me, and not you. I suggest you make this easy on the both of us and take your little beating quietly and just give in to a coma, okay, Ollie?"

Ramming his fist into the man's stomach, he pulled the girl from the man's loosened grasp as he fell back. Before the man had stopped gagging from the force of Cain's attack, he tossed his leg up and into the man's chest and snaked it around to the right side of him. Hooking his foot through the crook in the man's elbow before the guy fell to the ground, he shoved the dude roughly into the side of the alley and left him there as Oliver slid to the ground, eyes rolling back in his head as Cain stared at him, fangs bared over where he held the girl's face to his chest, his eyes glowing a vibrant red in the grey darkness.

Taking the girl by the shoulders, he held her at arm's length once he'd pulled her out of the alley and to a park nearby. His eyes glazed over her frame, taking note of her small clothing choice and of the bruises she wore from the man's too tight grip upon her over the days. Cain grimaced. Not exactly the picture of perfection he'd been hoping to attain upon his first glance at her. Regardless, she had a cute little formed body, despite the taint of the man's sex upon her. To take his turn, Cain was determined to wait until his scent was gone from her frame. There was no way he was sticking his thing where that jerk's had been, even if he wasn't going to be performing much better an act.

"Are you alright?" he asked, concern playing into his mask of features. After some hundred years, he'd gotten used to women and their needs, so he played this by previous experience.

Anya hung her head and was shivering, and brushed her hair over her shoulders, "I-I'll be fine....j-just c-cold...."
Without realizing what she was doing, she ended up huddling closer to him, his clothes were warm, and she was starting to catch cold.
She shuddered when she cast her gaze back at her step father, and looked up at him, her blue eyes big and sad.
"W-What's going to happen....n-now that h-hes...."
Her voice trailed off and she sneezed, "S-Sorry...I think I am catching c-cold....."
She was still shaking while the rain fell against her bare, cold skin. She wondered where she would go, what would happen to her. She sure as hell had no desire to return home....maybe this handsome stranger would take care of her....just looking at him made her heart beat wildly.

Her face was flushed and she felt disgusting.
"I hurt....all over....."

Eve cocked her head, ever so slightly.

"Who's his prey?"

"The young ones. Female, mostly, although he does enjoy a good boy or two. But the girls...they see his pretty face, they're smitten almost immediately. It's a crime, really."

Arcadia began to pull off her lightly toasted, brown gloves, but froze, mid yank at Eve's comment.

"Can I meet him?"

Eve never asked permission for anything, not even in ten-thousand-year-plus Arcadia's presence. Said vampire seemed to suddenly realize her glove was half off. Arcadia took the time to finish the maneuver, baring long, bright bright nails. The color matched her eyes in a pretty, subdue way.

"Of course. What's to stop you? He's older, though. Almost at his first millennium mark. What's there to eat in this dump? Eve, darling, you choose the most quaint dinners for us."

She reached for the proffered menu that Winter offered. Eve accepted one as well, and subtly studied Winter over the edge of her cover. He seemed casually at home, as if he felt that the place belonged to them, as they always felt where they were together. A quiet smile played at his thin lips, like he felt that the world was his own private joke, there for his amusement and his alone.

Winter dressed as Arcadia did: in muted tones that were reminiscent of the fifties. Even his hair was combed the same way. If one didn't know what to look for, the bright eyes would scream that he was under a hundred. His face, with the sharp planes, the pale blue eyes, the ash-blond hair, had the firmness of ice; the uncompromising clarity of its lines made it look, among the others, as if he were moving through a fog, hit by a ray of light. Winter sensing Eve's stare, met it with one of his own. His eyes were an icy cold blue, so pale, you'd have to swear they were white.

Disquieted, she turned away. Outside, things stood still, not a leaf trembled on the branches, while the sky slowly lost it's color and became an expanse that looked like a spread of glowing water.

"Why do you want to meet Cain, anyway? He's such a bore."

"Do you know everyone?"

She didn't design to respond.

"I need to freshen up before we eat."

It seemed natural; natural to the moment's peculiar reality that was sharply clear, but cut off from everything, immediate, but disconnected, like a bright island in a wall of fog, the heightened unquestioning reality one feels when one is too drunk. Arcadia slipped out of the booth with ease born of practice. In the dim lights of the restaurant, she was only a figure hurrying towards some unknown destination in a camel hair coat that had been expensive with a raised collar, her hat still gracing her head, a short skirt and long show-girl legs. Arcadia walked, cutting across the room, with a masculine, straight-line abruptness but she had a peculiar grace of motion that was swift, tense and oddly, challengingly feminine. Eve was enraptured by her sometimes friend. She turned to Winter who seemed as caught up in Arcadia as she was.

"Why do you like Arcadia?"

He gave her a slightly puzzled look.

"What do you mean?"

A slight nod was given in reply to her complaints and annoyances. His chin rested upon the top of her head, and he slid it closer toward her forehead in a sneaky move to check her temperature. A grimace took over the set of his lips as truth set in. Yes, she was catching cold, but if he got her out of the rain and into someplace warm, she'd be fine within a day.

"There's really no use for you to get sick. Here, come with me," he stated, stepping away from where she was huddled against him and holding out his hand.

Had she any sense of a brain, she'd take his hand and come with him out of the rain, but also refuse to stay with him for the duration of... well, more than a few hours. After that, things could get very dangerous for her if he had his way. While he held her hand, he slipped his hand about her shoulders and began to lead her in the direction of his home.

It was modest, inside and out, but garishly decorated in the basement where he'd laid out something of a "love nest" for all his little special treats. The exterior was a pale beige, matching the rest of the houses in the little cul-de-sac area where he resided not ten minutes from the girl's own residence. A lucky choice of housing with all the pickings there were around here. About the neighborhood, he probably had about five of the eight acting as his little mistresses. They came after school when their parents were still at work, during their free time, and one even snuck out every evening to see him. None of them even realized what occurred during their little rendezvous sessions as he sucked their blood, they just thought it was... well... use your imagination.

Opening the front door, he instructed her to wait in the foyer while he sought out towels for the two of them. It took him less than a minute to return, carrying two very large, very fluffy rectangles of cloth with him.

"Dry yourself as best you can, then go upstairs to the first door on the right. Open it and it should be a black and white bathroom. Strip down and shower so you don't get worse," he instructed nonchalantly, scuffing at his hair with his own towel.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 23, 2009 7:41 pm

Anya nodded and took the towel from him, "Thankyou...." she murmured, before retreating up the stairs and into the bathroom.

She finally found it. The bathroom was quaint, and very crisp and classic looking. She went in and shut the door and stripped down, casting her cold, ripped clothing to the floor. She started to walk towards the shower, but then took a second glance at her clothing. It then crossed her mind that it was the only clothing she had with her, and if she put it back on, she would definatly catch cold.

She sighed and picked it up, and hung it on a hook to air it out. She wondered what she would do for clothing after the shower.

Turning towards the shower, she turned it on and stepped into the steamy goodness. She smiled as the heated water massaged her back, making her shiver in pleasure. Looking to the shelf next to her, she surprisingly found girl hair product.

It didn't really cross her mind why, she just used it. She assumed it was there to be used.

After rinsing and finally stepping out, she wrapped the towel around her body, and did the inevitable. She walked out of the bathroom with the towel about her slim form, and the wet clothing in her arms, her face flushed from embarrassment.

"u-uhm...I'm so embarrassed....I'm sorry...but I was wondering what I would do about clothes...I have a towel covering me up right now....but....I...uh...."

She was bright red. "S-Sorry...I get kind of nervous if caught in a wierd situation like this...I actually wanted to say thank you....no one has been so kind to me before...."

A smiled graced her pale, delacite features, making her blue eyes sparkle.

Arcadia returned before Winter had a chance to answer. Eve was mildly annoyed, but knew better then to show displeasure before Arcadia. The Ancient settled into her seat in silence. Her eyes were still bare, like before, but the lips were nicely replenished in their too-red color. She found herself staring at Arcadia's lips, wondering what it would be like to taste them.

Wondering if the old vampire's body was all that it was famed to be. Not for pleasure, not in that sense; everyone was attracted to Arcadia. It was like she had a pheromone on her. No, Eve just wanted to know what it would be like. Would her body be warm, even without fresh blood? Soft? Where did she like to be kissed? Was she dominate in the bed room? Eve thought somehow she wasn't. Arcadia had a subtle presence about her that most over looked. Until you looked into those old, old eyes. Eyes that had seen too much of the world; too much vice, too much over indulgence. No matter how old, a vampire just couldn't hide it after a while. Arcadia saw Eve watching her; she smiled, but didn't say a word.

"When can we get some service around here? I'm simply famished!"

Winter smiled at his paramour.

"Say it a little louder; I don't think the Canadians heard you. Honestly, Arcadia, you're going to scare away our diner."

The couple eavesdropping at the booth next to theirs hurriedly turned around. Not everyone was eager to be coffin bait these days. Eve thought it was a shame. Wise, but still unfortunate.

"Now?"

Arcadia pursed her lush lips.

"Let's."

The trio stood, and moved towards the front. Eve sucked in a massive breath; it looked better if she didn't breath during her speech. She raised her voice over the quiet murmur of conversations and atmosphere music.

"Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen."

It grew quiet in seconds. Outside, Eve could hear the rain’s gentle music. She allowed herself a smile.

“Thank you. I’m Viconia, and this is Draco and Lolita. We’re hungry, and you’re our diner. That is all.”

The panic running started before the end of the sentence. “Draco” was at the door in an instant, blocking anyone from getting out. “Lolita” was similarly in the kitchen, dragging out cooks and waiters by their ears. Eve scanned her eyes over the crowd. She choose three who looked the most scared, who’s skin was unmarred by previous fangs; Arcadia could never stand coffin bait for food and Eve had picked up the taste.

“You, you and…you. Come here.”

The three victims were dragged forward while Draco allowed the rest to leave, after taking their coats, shoes and shirts. The girls lost all of their clothes; he hoped some of them would die that night. The trio waited until the dust had settled, so to speak until they advanced on their food. Two boys, and one girl. Perfect. Arcadia tilted the head back of one of the young men, nuzzling the tip of her pointy nose against his neck; he couldn’t have been more then twenty.

“Oh, my, don’t you smell good? You’re one of those Greenies, aren’t you? Opposed to what humans are doing to the environment? I remember the way humans used to taste, before the Industrial age. Oh, you wouldn’t believe! Do you remember, Eve? The pure taste? It was like drinking the Apple, from Eden. Or at least, how I imagined it would taste.”

Eve pulled her gaze away from the petrified man before her, in time to see Arcadia pull away from her boy. A hand still on his chest, the vampire circled around him like a beautiful shark.

“I remember. Poor Winter’s never had the pleasure, but I remember.”

She turned back to the man before her. Older then Arcadia’s, no doubt. Closer to thirty, then twenty. She could see the blood in his cheeks, the faint trembling of his body, in anticipation of pain. Eve cocked her head to one side, an oddly bird like movement. Her gaze moved from body to face—fair as she was, skin and hair, blue eyes. Eve felt a stab of longing, not for this well-fleshed creature, but for another she had abandoned. And she had promised to never leave. She pushed the unwanted thoughts aside, stepping to her meal. Remnants of anger remained, however, and showed it’s ugly face in the way she jerked his head back, or how she brought him to his knees before her so that the petite Eve could better feed off of him. His screams of pain and horror only brought the blood lust to higher heights…more…more…she needed more….

Abruptly, Eve was yanked back away from him. The man wavered on his knees, and collapsed, passed out. She turned blurry eyes to Winter who was still holding her arm.

“You know the rules, Eve. We can’t kill them, not anymore.”

The others had already finished. Eve could feel the vitality flowing through her veins now; she could take on the world.

“Where does Cain live? I’m going to see him.”

With dainty motions, Arcadia reached out her thumb, and wiped away excess blood around Eve’s mouth. She took her time, sucking the digit clean before answering.

“Off of Lee street. House number 2903. It’ll be on your left.”

As Eve was passing through the doors to the chilling rain, she heard Arcadia call out:

"Don't forget about our plans this Friday!"
