I'm afraid I didn't like it much, either. However, I felt some sort of nebulous obligation to snag 1000/1000 achievement points on it, probably because I subconsciously desired to put my experience with it on par with the other core Final Fantasy titles.
I did it and I feel no sense of accomplishment for doing so.
