Really? Wow, people are geniuses, aren't they?

I think it's weird that when people say, "baby's eating what you eat" they actually mean it! I read in "What to Expect" that the fluid the baby swallows absorbs some of the flavor of what the mother eats... Well Declan, I hope you like fruit! rofl

Oh I heard the reverse...huh.
my favorite thing I heard when i was pregnant is tat eating ice causes anemia... I had the oddest craving for ice, my mom's friend told me that I laughed and walked off.

seriously how can ice cause iron deficiency?

Oh one thing I have yet to see disproved and I live by this.

if you are at home and you think you are going into labor go take a nice warm shower. let the water spray on your lower back, if the labor pains subside then its false labor and if they keep getting worse then its actual labor.

My last birth was done by a midwife in the hospital, I had the most comfortable birthing experience. I actually gave birth laying on my side.
I was most comfortable laying on my side though the dilation sitting around doing nothing....
she told me that it didn't matter what position I was in the baby is going to come out, and I should make MYSELF as comfortable as possible...
what a relief to not have to try and pull my knees to my earlobes....

Did anyone hear the one about the weight on a string? Apparently, you hold it over your belly, and if it spins in the same place, then you're having a boy. But if it moves back and forth, you're having a girl. (I might have gotten that reversed...Haven't heard it in a while)

How about if you have heart burn the baby will be born with lots of hair?
I had horrible heart burn and 3 little bald babies, 1 had a head full!

Eating ice doesn't cause anything, but the craving of ice is a sign of a deficiency. As is the craving of other non-food items...think chalk, dirt, ect.

» Loving being a mommy 24/7.

I was told that if you raise your arms up a lot during pregnancy, the cord will wrap around your baby's neck.
I raised my arms a whole bunch during my pregnancy, and my son came out with no problems whatsoever.

I was told that a lot of morning sickness means you will have a girl and that little to no morning sickness means you'll have a boy.
