Phea always loved to watch the sky at night, and Wildflower Meadow had the best view of the stars. For some reason the night made sense to her, not to mention that star-gazing was the best way for her to relax after stirring up a bit of trouble. Of course hardly anyone ever suspected her, she was always so nice to everyone.... Only Ivy had realized Phea's true nature and now they had a nice partnership going, but there was a limit to what the two of them could do on their own. Although known as a "nice girl", Phea was also a bit of a loner and tended to spend most of her time by herself, thoughts running like lightning through her head. Even now, staring at the hundreds of stars above her head the thoughts never stopped. She starting singing softly to herself, a song her guardian had taught her:

"Across the Ni-i-i-ight, twas' the moon that stole my slumber. Across the Ni-i-i-i-ight, I fell in love with people sleeping..."

She didn't have too bad of a voice, but it wasn't like anyone could hear her

Under the cover of night, Lucio felt much safer. Well, more than that, the chirping of the crickets and the cold night air calmed him. All the herla were asleep, no one to bother him, and he could do whatever he wanted. He even briefly considered becoming nocturnal so he wouldn't have to deal with anyone else. Why had he decided not to? Well, it's not like that would make him lonelier or anything...

But Lucio wasn't thinking about that right now. In fact, he was in one of his rare good moods, walking through Wildflower Meadow with a spring in his step. He'd never admit it, but this really was his favorite place to be. Humming softly to himself, he looked down at the flowers, all of them red to him.

Although he didn't usually listen to his Guardian, Audrey's suggestion to sing a song didn't sound so bad right about now. He lifted his head-- and pricked his ears when he realized that someone else beat him to the punch. So much for all herla being asleep. Although not completely squelched, his good mood was somewhat dampened by the thought of another herla, here, in his sanctuary.

Lucio approached cautiously, eyes narrowed and ears pointed towards the source of the singing. It sounded like a doe, but the voice wasn't familiar... My singing is better, he thought to himself, ignoring his Guardian's giggling as he shuffled through the grass. Lucio finally stopped when he was at a decent distance to see the doe. Her singing wasn't all that bad, she didn't look dangerous... He wasn't really sure what to make of her.

Better to have her make the first move. Lucio stood there, glaring at her, expecting her to notice him any time now. Or I could scare her away... he considered the knife strapped to his leg. Still, not that he would even admit to himself, but it was nice to hear someone else sing.

Phea had just begun a dance when the whisper of her guardian's voice told her not to let her guard down. Although Inky was strange (albeit entertainingly so), the guardian was also suprisingly wise. Phea froze on the spot and studied her surroundings.

There was a herla not too far away from her, unrecognizable in the dark. Phea's muscles tensed as she quickly went through the options in her head. Her first reaction was to attack outright, but if she did that, it would blow the cover she had so carefully built around the other herla. She had to keep them thinking she was harmless. It was so much easier to take advantage of them that way. An innocent expression fell in to place effortlessly.

The red delta's next train of thought had her debating who her possible opponent could be. She couldn't imagine any of the herla wandering around so late at night. Then again, Ivy knew that Phea liked to star-gaze in Wildflower Meadow. The the odds were high, Phea didn't let her guard down.

"Hallo? Who else is here so late at night? Ivy? Is that you?" she asked sweetly.

Ivy? If they were thinking of the same hind, then Lucio didn't want to proceed. She only seemed to hang around, even seek out, other crazy herla. Chances this one was just as bad.

"No, it's not Ivy," he called out irritably, despite himself, "Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my meadow?"

Sure, it was juvenile, but Lucio approached the other, finally revealing himself while getting a better look at the.. delta. Great, she was a delta. And even worse, she was a cute delta. He growled under his breath to himself, he really could have just scared her away.

She raised an eyebrow for a moment, but quickly dropped it back.

Don't drop the act... Don't drop the act... she repeated in her mind.

Part of her was very tempted to tell him off. He gave the first impression of a spoiled brat who threw a hissy if everything wasn't level with his own wishes. But first impressions were a deceiving gesture, she herself was the expert at this. Maybe he was wearing a mask, just like she was. Only one way to find out...

Phea smiled sweetly at him. "I'm sorry, I didn't know this meadow belonged to someone and I didn't mean to trespass. It's just that the stars look so beautiful here that I couldn't help myself. My name's Pheanoar, what's yours?"

Somedays she acted so sweet, she wondered if she could give herself a cavity...
