Mabon or the Fall equinox is coming up in a few weeks. If you live in the southern Hemisphere Ostara would be the next Sabbat. Does this Sabbat have any meanings to any one? Do you plan on doing anything special?

For us... this is the time of year where we honour Absu, Tiamat's husband and balancing force. For while he was at her side she was happy and calm. We also honour the light and dark dragons for their work in maintaining balance. It is also a good time to harvest seasonal spells or add power to long term spells.

Probably will be doing a ritual to Absu on the Fri before, I have to work on Mabon.

You have anything planned?

Not sure yet to be honest. Last year I held two different rituals. I'll probably do the same this year. One ritual was Hellenic and one was Nordic. I didn't feel anything after either, but thats because I didn't really do much research into either one of those.

The Autumnal Equinox signals the start of my favourite season smile
Autumn is the season in which I was born and includes my favourite colours. Its the time of the Harvest and I feel its a very family oriented time. I can make jams and preserves...I just love it lol!

Mabon actually falls at quite a difficult time for me. I'll be moving homes that week into my Halls of Residence so this Mabon marks a new life for me!

Cool. I'm not sure what I am going to do to be honest. I'm thinking of a mental and productive fertility ritual. To help me do the best I can in school and to help my fiance get the job he wants.

Can you explain how you might perform a ritual for this Sabbat (does your tradition have it's own name for the Sabbat)?

My next Sabbth(sp?) is Ostra(sp?) and I'm not really sure what I can do by myself, or even with another person.
I'm still farily confused with the Sabbths, as I keep finding sites from the US and I'm from Austrilia so I'm not sure how it mixes.

For the holiday, you can do exactly what you find. Where you live doesn't matter on what you do for it. You'd just follow Ostara instead of Mabon, since you're celebrating spring instead of fall.

To the one that I serve

Sanguina is from New Zealand I believe so she would have the same calendar as you do.

lol just noticed ya asked a question....

The ritual started with a cleansing ritual then transitioned into offerings to each darkness and light. Followed it by a funerary rite to add our passed friend to the death altar.

Cool. I ended up not doing the ritual I was planning on. I got overwhelmed in homework and school work that I just didn't find the time fpor the ritual.

To the one that I serve

So what does this Sabbat mean to every one? I figured it's pass the time for the Sabbat so we can reflect on what it means to us.
