Character Background: Some are born great. Some have greatness thrust upon them. Others just manage to become great after spending lots and lots of time doing something. Rednal is one such person, and ultimately, his ability comes not just from some talent, but from using that talent to the fullest over a very, very long period of time. As a result, he's quite confident in himself, and is generally amused at the antics of other Shinigami.

Zanpakuto Sealed Appearance: Unknown; Rednal's weapon remains in Shikai form unless Bankai is active.
Shikai Appearance: A hilt without a blade, more western in style than eastern.
Bankai Appearance: A sword made of some sort of chaotic black energy, without so much as a hilt to keep it in line.
Shikai Ability: Normally, while in Shikai form, Hikari no Hissho is nothing but a hilt without a blade. However, by focusing his willpower, Rednal can call forth a blade of white energy for use in combat, and he's figured out a number of interesting tricks to do with this. The weapon itself possesses the ability to absorb spiritual energy to make itself stronger, not terribly dissimilar from what the Quincy have been known to do. However, this energy remains within the weapon until it's been deactivated for some time, and the effect provides a potent defense against enemies who focus on energy-type attacks, including both non-elemental and elemental attacks. Furthermore, the weapon is capable of firing off extremely fast bursts of energy for a ranged attack.
Bankai Ability: As with all Shinigami, though, Rednal's Bankai is rather stronger than his Shikai. Once released, his weapon acquires two additional characteristics; the first is that the weapon taps deep into his Hollow side for additional power, not dissimilar from what the Vizard do (if less precisely), creating a weapon that, in direct offensive power, is unsurpassed; at this stage, it is even capable of breaking other released Zanpakuto, though it does have to actually hit them, since that power in his weapon does not extend beyond the weapon itself, thus giving it decent range in melee and nothing at all beyond that. The more ranged effect is the ability to completely control gravity within a spherical area that has a radius of two miles. Rednal has been known to use this to fantastic effect, including wrapping a layer of gravity reminiscent of a black hole around his weapon to simply rip apart whatever it comes in contact with, or in the most troubling situations, to actually create a black hole to suck his enemies in. Of course, this would be a completely useless power if it didn't have its limits; the maximum range of Rednal's bankai is the maximum range of his gravitational manipulation, period; if he created a black hole right on the edge of his attack range, and somebody was a foot away, outside of his attack range, they wouldn't be affected at all. Rednal doesn't seem to mind this limitation, since it prevents his power from accidentally swallowing up more than it should, and the range of his ability is generally sufficient for combat anyway.
