Essy stood by the driveway as she awaited the black SUV that was supposed to be bringing her father. Her tail swished in the soft wind and Essy tucked her hair behind her ear and began to wonder why her father decided to visit her so suddenly. Looking up, she spotted the car in the distance driving past the thicket of woods that seperated the home for the rest of the world and a soft smile slipped on her lips. She hoped for a present.

Zigarath was squeezed uncomfortably in the SUV as they road home. "Your car, ow, is very cramped." He said as they road from the slave shop to his masters home. "Ah, so this is were you live, ow...I hate bumps." He said happily as they neared the house and slightly anoyed by the many bumps in the road.

Thomas softly chuckled at Zigaraths comment but didn't utter a word once he was seated in the car. He never really was the talkative type, and that's how he prefered to keep it. Finally, the car slowed to a stop and he looked at Zigarath for the first time since they got into the vehicle.
"I have some business I need to get down, I wish you good luck with my daughter, Essy." Thomas nodded again as he motioned for Zigarath to get out.
"Hey!? What are you playing at? Who the hell is this?! Why are you leaving?!?!" Essy hollered as she jumped from her seat on the railing surrounding the house. She ran up to the car and glared daggers inside the vehicle.
"Honey, meet your babysitter. Don't kill him this time, okay? I'll be back later." With that, the car quickly turned around and left.
"WHAT THE HELL!!! YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME HERE LIKE THIS, I DON'T NEED A- UGH DDAAAAAADDDD" She shouted and ran several feet down the driveway watching the car dissapear into the thicket of woods. Her shoulders slumped and she remained silent as she wavered in her spot. This certainly wasn't the present she was expecting. Slowly, she turned on her heel and faced the dragon with skeptical eyes.
"Look, I don't care what he says, but I can watch over myself."

Zigarath was surprised by her hostililty twords him. "Don't worry I'm not here to babysit you, your father just wants me to protect you." He said kindly trying to explane himself. "Why are you so angry?"

Instinctively, she chewed on her lip when she started a debate in her mind and she didn't say anything to him for a few moments. To be honest, she found no reason to answer to his question and no reason why he would honestly want to know. No body really cared about her.
"I'm not angry." Essy simply stated as she wrapped her arms over her chest in subconsiously defensive manner.
"If I was you wouldn't be asking questions," she smiled at him and then motioned him closer as she took long strides back to the porch of the house.
"My name is Essy, what's yours?" Finally she crossed the length of the porch and reached the door grasping the door nob and then turning around to face him, finally taking notice of her tiny 5' 2'' frame
Her brown hair was tied back and braided in an odd fashion but it glowed a honey color as the light struck it. Fishnets covered her arms and stomach where her black shirt didn't cover and dark jeans tightly hugged her frame. Spikes poked out in several areas of her jeans where it looked like she stitched thorns in them and a large hole showed her knee, she looks no older then eighteen. But things aren't always as they seem.

Zigarath smiled and followed Essy to the front door. "My name is Zigarath but you can call me ziggy if you want, it's easier." He said happily. "What would you like me to call you, Essy or Mistress Essy?" He asked politely.

Essy's smile grew at his nickname, she had already decided she would call him that seconds before he offered it. It sounded much less, odd, on the tongue then his name was. She pushed open the door and stepped into the living room, it was simple with several white leather couches and a large tv but attached to the room was a bar and a man with brown hair and a pair of ears and tail identical to Essy sat at a stool and drowned a glass.
"Actually, I prefer Es." She answered and then glanced at her brother, Felix. "Felix, what are you doing here?"
Hicupp. "Well you see.." he started but paused to pour another drink, "there's, there.. this guy and..." Felix paused as he forgot his words and quickly took another swig of the content he poured into his glass.
"Oh yeah! I got in a fight... and, some guy's looking for me.."
Essy's mouth dropped at the response she received and she rolled her eyes balling her hands into a fist trying to remain calm.
"What do you mean looking for you?!"
"How many other meanings are there?"

Zigarath followed Essy into her house. "Wow, this place is wonderful Es." He said excitedly. He then sat on the floor with his legs crossed and his tail to his side as he listened to Essy and her brother talk.

Essy's mouth dropped. She really couldn't believe what she was hearing. She shook her head and brought her hand up to her forehead and began to rub her temples as her brother stood up and them clumsily fell on to the floor. Essy sneered and shook her hand as she dropped her hand to her side and viciously spat at Felix.
"Your pathetic." Her mood seemed to change drastically before Ziggys eyes as she then turned to face him and offered a small smile.
"So are you hungry? I'll have the cooks make whatever you want"

Zigarath smiled back at her offer. "Thank you Mistress Es but I'm good for now." He said kindly with a slight bow. He then looked down a Felix who was still lying on the floor. "Umm...is he alright?"

Essy casted a sideways glance towards her brother, who hiccuped occasionally with his face in the soft white carpet.
"Did you know... our floor, is a cloud?"
An exasperated sigh slipped out of Essy's lips and then she turned her attention back to Ziggy and crossed her arms over her chest, almost defiantly.
"Oh, he'll be fine. Your not looking after him anyway, he can take care of his self." A groan escaped Felix' lips and Essy curiously turned to him. She relaxed her arms to her side and strode over to her brother, she had never heard a noise of pain escape his lips. Never.
He remained silent after that, didn't move, barely seemed to be breathing, but Essy could hear the faint little whisps of air slowly being exhaled from his noise. She seemed a little unnerved as she looked back at Ziggy, the confidence that shone brightly seemed to be wiped off of her face.
"He'll be fine..." She repeated, though mainly for her sake then Ziggy.
However, she quickly slapped her pretentious mask back on her face and held her head high, as though she were looking down at Ziggy even though as he sits he remains to be the same height as her.
"How'd you end up here anyway?"

Essy chuckled lightly at the calmness of the atmosphere rather then the comment she received.
"I know that, but how'd you end up where my daddy bought you?"

Zigarath sighed. "Well...I got captured by a few hunters about a month ago, they were very crafty. I didn't put up to much of a fight because I don't kill humans but I didn't make it easy for them. After a long fight they netted me and brang me to the slave shop." He smiled. "And now I'm here." He said happily.
