Okay, I never normally make spam threads, but I wanted everyone to see this quickly.
This thread can be deleted tomorrow.
My homework tonight is to ask people I know
"What they think causes the seasons to change".
I am waaay too lazy to call people and ask, and I know I could PROBABLY BS responses, but they'd all sound the same.
So without looking up the REAL reason, just post what YOU think!

All right. BE PREPARED.
I think the earth is an actual living being with a mind, therefore it has the ability to control itself in any way it wants. So, when life started on it it wanted to sustain that living matter and let it grow. Therefore, it created the 4 seasons in hopes to give a balance in keeping humanity, but also in controling it as well. (No one wants overpopulation!)
So yeah! I hope that makes...sense? XD

I think it has something to do with the Earth's rotation so that the season changes depending on where the sun is in relation to Earth. Basically, when a hemisphere is facing the sun, YAY SUMMER. When it's facing the opposite way, winter.
Of course this is all from memory of what I learned and I could be way off.
Don's explanation is pretty awesome though. XD

I think that the seasons change because of the way the Earth and Sun rotate. It's Summerish here in California but over in China it's probably winter.

I was going to say more or less exactly what Ryu said... so...
Like, it depends on where the axis is tilting. If it's tilting toward the sun, we get summer. When it's tilting away, we get winter.
Like when the North Pole is leaning away from the sun, it's winter in the Northern Hemisphere, and summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
So yeah it depends where the earth is in its rotation in relation to the sun.
Pretty much just trying my best to remember that from... grade... 6? Science class. I'm pretty sure that's when we learned that. So, who knows? Aha.

I mean honestly. The lifestream is the life of the planet. How could you conclude that the season change for any other reason?

Speaking of TLK, during our five day trip of hell we were talking about food and crap, and there were vegetarians with us complaining about all the cattle and corn and how bad it is for the world and crap. And it got to a point where I was like 'Well you should eat the animals to keep everything in balance' and he was like 'if people stopped making so many animals then there would be no need for that large amount of corn, and without the large amount of corn the soil could become filled with more nutrients!' And finally I was like 'Dude, haven't you heard of the circle of life?' And half the group was like 'Oh yeah!'
Because the cattle eat the corn, and we eat the cattle, and we make the corn, so that the cattle can eat...
It was a special discussion. And I think I hate vegetarians more now than ever.
