The idiot behind the moron Bartz is not a smart person. In fact, the fact he let a turtle verbally abuse him on multiple occasions, shows that he doesn't think his wording out very well. But Bartz shows a remarkable attitude despite a lot of the things he went through as a child. Bartz lost his mother when he was little, and his dad three years before the game. His best friend is Boko, a chocobo that separated from the flock, and he has the ability to make friends with ANYONE!
Though he is willing to do most things, you have to drag him kicking and screaming to get him to fly. When Bartz was a little kid, he was playing hide and go seek with the village kids and almost fell off from a two story house. Ever since then, he had a crippling fear of heights and it was shown again when Gaulf and Lenna forced him on a wind drake.
He also shows remarkable acceptance of different people as shown when he found that Fairs is a woman, stating, “Faris will be Faris.” Though he also shows that he likes pretty women as all men do. Gaulf teased Bartz as he tried to play the noble hero when he saved the two from goblins. When Faris was forced in a dress and prettied up for Lenna, Bartz was shocked and practically drooled all over Fairs.
Bartz also shows great strength in accepting death. This is most likely due to his parent’s death. When Gaulf lost his life, he did all he could to help Krile through it. But despite all that, he is still human, and though he never displayed it before, Bartz does have an enraged side to him. When ExDeath gained minor power over the void, he devoured Tycoon castle and Lix, his home town. Enraged by the though his only home was destroyed with all the people he cared about, Bartz took the airship and charged into the void out of rage.
During his many battles with Gilgamesh, he forms a sort of friendship with the man as they battled. He even offered to join Bartz after their mission was finished, though depending how you play, Gilgamesh may die or never engaged in battle.
Depending how the battle with Neo ExDeath goes, Bartz can have multiple endings. One of the more dramatic ones is if Bartz alone survives the battle. This is trigger by having your team mates KO’d after you kill NXD, where Bartz will return to the world while his friends are consumed by the void. Bartz will resume traveling with Boko and reflect back on what he could have done to save them. Though the ending always comes out the same, after a year, the party return to the tree of moore,(your party being brough back by the tree if they died.) Another crazy one is if Bartz dies and everyone else survives. Everyone will wonder about Bartz and Boko will be depressed with Coco at his side.

Theories regarding Bartz Bartz+Lenna- This is false 100%. If anything, Lenna loves her sister more than anyone. Lenna's descendant has no relation with Bartz descendant. They made a movie called the Legend of the Crystals that is based 200years after the events of 5. It is assumed that Bartz went home to Lix after a while and married the girl who he was friends with since he was a kid.
Bartz fate- It’s commonly believed that Bartz lived a pretty eventful life until he settled down. He most likely died an old man, and left his mark on the world some way or another.

Trivia Though originally envisioned to be romanized as Butz, his name has never been romanized as such in any official localization of Final Fantasy V, and in the past, it was only romanized for the 1992 official strategy guide in Japan. English localizations have changed the romanization to "Bartz." This is probably because Butz is a homophone of "butts" in English.
Bartz's Dragoon costume is very similar to Kain Highwind's armor in Final Fantasy IV.
Bartz's Mystic Knight costume is very similar to the clothing of Minwu from Final Fantasy II.
Bartz is the only party member who is not royalty. Bartz later becomes the only male party member after Galuf dies.
Bartz's last name Klauser is a common German family name of Bavarian origin.
Bartz, Lenna, Galuf, Krile, Faris, Cid, and Mid are shown at the end of Final Fantasy: Legend Of The Crystals, when Mid finally can rest in peace.
