So found this on facebook, It seems that tv type people are far too late realising that sci-fi westerns are actually worth a go. Dunno about you but im caught between headbutting the desk and being more than a little interested.

I'm rather amused by all the comments on this from Browncoats who seem to hold it against the upcoming shows/movies that they aren't Firefly. Yes, I would prefer to have Firefly back but what happened to it wasn't the fault of these upcoming projects.

I'm skeptical... I was trying to describe Firefly to a friend of mine who had never seen anything Joss Whedon had ever done, and the way she was responding made me realize that the setup didn't sound as good in theory as Joss made it in practice.

That was the issue Joss had pitching the show. No one could understand quite what he was talking about when he tried to describe what it was about.

I always say...
"Space Cowboys. But so much cooler than that makes it sound.
Let me preface it with this: I hate westerns. HATE THEM. TO the freaking blood depths of my soul. Hate cowboys. I am pretty indifferent to sci-fi. [with a shrug] It's okay, I'll watch it but it's not my fave.
I was not impressed with Buffy. Even less impressed with Angel. Both series that Joss Whedon, who created Firefly, produced.
I LOVE Firefly. LOVE it. As much as I hate cowboys/westerns, times that hate by a million-trillion, turn it to love and that doesn't even begin to touch how much I love Firefly."
Usually gets people at least interested. rofl

I did the same thing, the other half was hooked on the show but i wasnt interested at all. It was only because i was really bored one afternoon that i sat and watched 'safe' with him. I loved it , then he told me it had been cancelled and there was no more.. i was gutted gonk

I liked the genre before I'd even seen firefly... So this just makes me giggle a bit... Joss's talent for making shows more about character building than story development paired nicely with the genre...
Not interested in cowboys and aliens yet, but the dark tower movie better change to Dark tower movies. Cannot compress so many books into one movie and not upset a lot of people. lol
