What form does your muse take? Do you get inspired more in nature or in front of the tv? Discuss what inspires you most and how you generate ideas.

I suppose my muse is really creative characters. The entire reason I write Fan fiction is because I miss certain characters. The end of a book is the most wretched goodbye since you'd been with them they entire journey and just when the sun comes out and everything is peachy keen they turn around and leave you hanging (if you ever find me cranky it's most likely because I just finished a really good book).
So I sit there and go through the book in complete denial that it is indeed over. I find every vague plot point, every twist unexplained, and go, "Hey! There's still something left here! Hello?" But no one listens...
So I take these plot points and say to myself, "Well if they're not going to answer these questions... I am!" That brings us to my muse. The whole writing thing lasts about a week, then I pick up a new book, fall in love all over again, and have a half-finished story sitting on my hard drive collecting virtual dust.
Sigh.

I know what you mean about the book being over and going back over all the plot points, several of my story ideas have started because of that. But generally my must comes in none to specific forms. Little things, like one line in a song or some reaction somebody had to one sentence... it always starts as something small and then more little bits gets added to it and it becomes huge... if that makes sense lol
My muse likes making me do all the work hehe they give me all the details and snippets of information but makes me figure out how they go together razz

Oddly my muse seems to strike when I'm doing something active. I generally get most of my ideas when I'm out for a walk, or doing yoga or something. It just helps me clear my head and the ideas spring forth.

I'm in pretty much the same situation as FlatteredPawn, except that I don't fall out of love that easily. Usually, I just think of something else about the same character that needs explaining and get swamped trying to right all the wrongs in the world at once, hehe.
Oddly enough, my muse feeds on other fanfics. The original book/series will get me thinking "I wish I knew more about this or that...", but fanfiction usually puts me in a "what the hell did you just do!?? It would be so much better if..." state, haha. In part, that's why I put myself through the torture of reading a lot of crapfic. Every now and then, you find a diamond in the rough.
I guess that means my muse is some sort of cannibal entity... Don't mess with her! xp

Inspiration comes in the most unusual form for me. Bad Fanfiction inspires me greatly. I read the story and just think how I could make it better or sometimes there is something completely crazy in there that I want to make work.
One time I read a fanfiction about Jyonouchi Katsuya (Joey Wheeler from Yugioh) being bulimic... but the person writing turned him into a Sue and made him an incredibly girly character, when he really isn't. I thought of a sanario where he might consider throwing up to lose weight. Wrestling is the most common reason for a guy to be insecure about his weight and they do some pretty drastic things to make weight like go on all bubble gum diets and such.
So sit back, relax- and read some bad fanfiction to get some good fanfiction ideas.

Not sure what you guys are gonna think of this but... Sex is my muse!
After a nice hot tumble with my lover and a really good orgasm I feel so clear-headed and inspired that I could write a novel! (Of course I don't.) So, yeah. Sex.

I think that is a wonderful muse smile And quite logical since it gets the blood (and other juices) flowing. Give me intelligent conversation and I will give you my attention.
