I need tips on a successful business please....
Edit: I meant to click home business, but clicked community lot business. I think Home business is better because you can fulfill your motives and stuff better.

You can sell your Community Business and start a home one.
I have been considering creating a tutorial for creating a successful business (if there isn't one already).
Your business should have some form of entertainment to keep people around and keep them happy. But not too much entertainment, otherwise they'll keep themselves busy with that and not shopping. If your employees are townies, be sure to give them breaks and of course have a place where they can fill their needs otherwise they'll quit. Don't make things super expensive. Try to have a variety of products to appeal to all types of customers.
That's all I can think of right now. I'll try to get more for you later.

I honestly prefer Community Lot businesses. Admitedly I hate the load times to get there and back but I prefer that to having to lock all my external doors to stop random Sims coming in and then remembering to unlock them when I invite guests round.

I love having a home business. They're always either flower or toys. Never robots.. I don't know why.. robots are useful I know, but they look odd ~.~; And it makes the store looks plain. =.=

I love having a salon, mostly because my townies need serious makeovers.
