Since school started for most of us already...
What is everyone taking this year? What are your expectations? Let's hear it!
I'll go first.
Advanced genetics: a potentially interesting topic, but I've heard bad things about the class. The prof is nice when you go talk to her, but her lecturing ability...could be better (shy, quiet, monotonous voice.) The fact that the class takes place at 8:30 AM certainly doesn't help. Nevertheless, there is a coffee shop in the building, and there's a 5 minute break in the class xd There's going to be a lot of reading involved, and so far it's been a pain in the a**...and we've only had one class. I think it's going to be rough. Good: coffee. Bad: huge term paper.
Physical chemistry (thermodynamics): ...the one I dropped last fall redface Since I'm not very fluent in mathemathese, this one will most likely be a disaster, again, except this time I won't have the wonderful "withdraw" option. I just hope I can find a tutor and/or a miracle. Or that the class average is so bad that the prof scales up the marks. He's generally a nice guy, so that helps, even if I'm not very good in the class. Good: I've seen some of the material before. Bad: I didn't understand said material.
Immunobiology: Mixed feelings. I heard that the prof is FREAKIN' HARDCORE and if you goof off/fall behind, you're screwed. He seems like a nice guy so far, though, and I think I've sucked up successfully after just one class whee I'm really looking forward to this class--the material just seems awesome. Good: no midterm. Bad: very time consuming.
Eukaryotic cell & molecular genetics lab: 5 hour lab. The extent of my attention span is one hour, and that's on a good day. This lab is going to be brutal. I've had the prof for an other lab before and, while she is super nice and helpful, her lab reports and assignments are MONSTROUS (and worth 75% of one's mark.) Good: no final exam! Bad: LOOOOOOOOOOOONG.
Sooo, what about everyone else?

I don't start school 'til the 24th. Yayyy quarter system!
I'm gonna be taking biochem, genetics, microbio with lab, and a religious studies class. Excited for genetics and microbio. Distinctly not excited about biochem. I'll make a decision about the religious studies class when I start it. Mostly it's just for GE credit stuff.
Ha, my genetics class is at 8:00, too. XD Tuesday Thursdays. And Monday, Wendesday, Friday I'm taking microbio lab at 8:00. Funfunfun.
I think I'm (potentially) taking immuno in the winter. Kind of looking forward to it. It sounds interesting.

My parents didn't believe that girls needed to go to college so they wouldn't support me going. not even support the idea of me going. However if given the opportunity I would like to take: Advanced World History, Genetic Engineering, Archeology... I've always been good at science and history. I would like to do something that involves both.

I'm not exactly in college yet. Try middle school. But I really like science, though. We were messing with electricity one day, and this guy self proclaimed himself a leader of the group, which naturally, I wanted to be. But it turned out for the best, becouse leaders mostly cleaned up after us. In the end, everyone in the group were talking and I did the experiments alone (yeeey) but zapped myself with electricity.
