And as for the random fact, did you know... that out of any other music kind, Country is the most depressing and makes people the most prone to suicide?

Just think that is kinda funny ^^ sorry country fans out there ^^;; saw that when I was flipping through the channels and Manswers was on around 2 am....

And of course, Christian music, we must talk about that 3nodding

I personally am in love with my Joy Electric CD from the early 90s I found at a second hand book store heart Released by Tooth and Nail company, the CD's title is We Are The Music Makers. It's Christian techno, and the guy, when you look at his picture on the inside cover with the lyrics, looks super Elegant Gothic Aristocrat! ^^ Black straight long hair, black eyeliner, a black suit with a white neck ruffle~ It makes me flail with happiness whenever I see it. And his music is really good, too 3nodding

-sings along to Breakdown by Tom Petty-

((know there's like a million of these threads, but... well, who doesn't listen to that much music?))

-sings along to Crazy Train by Ozzy-

Funny thing... my boyfriend's step mother, when he mentioned he liked Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica, she got angry and glared at him, asking, "Why are you listening to satanic music?"
Er.... they are not Christian.... but if you look at Ozzy, his lyrics are actually really good, and they are not about anything evil... there again..... she is kinda crazy.... and a hypocrit...... she would probably be upset if she found out I didn't support McCain -shrugs- Anyways, we just like the music, and it's better than what most people listen to, and more decent. Marilyn Manson is actually a satanist, and even he has a few songs (like his redone version of Tainted Love and Sweet Dreams) that are not bad, with nothing suggestive, anti-religion, or cursing in them... it depends more on the song than the person who wrote it, if you ask me.

Ozzy's song, See You On The Other Side, if someone just saw the lyrics, you could almost assume it was a Christian musical artist. ((Like when Anberlin redid Lovesong by The Cure))

Alice Cooper - Salvation

((a simply beautiful slow song))

What if I'm wrong,
I've been deceived all along
What if I'm wrong

What have I done
Did I waste a life just for fun
What have I done

What did I do
I did what voices told me to
What did I do

Where will I go
Will I sink through fire down below
Where will I go

Any chance of salvation
Any chance for me
Any chance of salvation for eternity
Any chance of salvation
Someone died for me
Washed in blood he cared enough to pity me

Why do I care
What's wrong with me, my hate is gone
Why do I care

When did I change
What's different now, it's very strange
When did I change

Any chance of salvation
Any chance for me
Any chance of salvation for eternity
Any chance of salvation
Someone died for me
Washed in blood he cared enough to pity me

In my heart
In my soul
Something's new, that's very old
Like a pain that's finally gone
I feel my heavy burden lifted

Any chance of salvation
Any chance for me
Any chance of salvation

Any chance of salvation
Any chance for me
Any chance of salvation for eternity
Any chance of salvation
Any chance for me
Any chance of salvation for eternity
Any chance of salvation
Any chance for me
Any chance of salvation for eternity

Some Christian music can leave one in a not so comfortable state of mind depending what's going on in their life. The lyrics of a song, the message is most important. Now I think the blues have been the most depressing to me or at least the companion of a depressed person. Most country music tallyed up to be good advice as to what not to get caught up in. I think it depends upon the listener. Where did you get your stats from?, other than that one source, and what neighborhood did they conduct their survey in?

Music=Life! *shakes head solemnly* Well it would if I didn't have Jesus. So Jesus=Life!

I always found Country music to be the original emo music lol

Ozzy isn't really my cup of tea. I must admit, I like the softer rock that's out there, hiding out in the mainstream...Seether, Evanescence, POD, bads like that.

Seether has this amazing song that makes me smile everytime it ends because the last line Shaun keep saying are: "Jesus, save me, Jesus save me, Jesus save me from me."

Then Tourniquet by Evanescence is just absolutely amazing. It should have been my theme song throughout high school lol

Next in line for secular music leaning a bit towards religion is, "I AM" by Godsmack. You listen to it, and almost the whole thing screams allusions to God.

I love it when my favorite secular bands have God allusions in them. They could (quite possibly) lead someone to Christ. The listener could think, "If Seether is singing about Jesus, then maybe I should look into that because anything they sing about is cool." (Granted, they sing about a molesting father and how they are worthless, none of that is cool...)

Country is so dull...I can't stand to listen to it....Within Temptation is a really good band though! I absolutely love their songs "Blue Eyes" and "Overcome"!

I love Within Tempation, the song Nemo and the video are beautiful heart
Tourniquet by Evanescence is wonderful, me and Jen were thinking about singing that for a church talent show ^^ dark, beautiful, devoted heart

Jon Bon Jovi is a Christian ^^ you should hear him sing Praise the Lord (don't know how to spell halelujah correctly... sadly.... I'm embarassed.) It is so powerful and heart felt, simply amazing.

And you are so right about country being the origional emo music XD
Now, I do love Trace Atkins, he is amazing... there is just something about him I simply love, probably how sweet, kind, and modest he was on The Apprentice. I admire him more than I could possibly ever say.

I do love Trace Atkins song, You're Gonna Miss This, not sure why... usually I do not like songs like that, but it was probably because I saw him on t.v. playing it live after he talked about his family and his little girls, not being afraid, like so many people are, to share and show their hearts.

((Also, with his hair, he looks like a viking! XD Love it! Super epic!))

Blue eyes and Overcome by Within Temptation are the best songs ever, hands down.

I also have a couple favorite hymns called "How Great Thou Art" and "Praise God from who all blessings flow" or it's also known as the Doxology Hymn.
