Ironic Demise

First of all, i'm an atheist, not a satanist.

I've noticed a lot of 'religious' threads around the lifestyle discussion, and they all seem to mention the God ends up killing more people than 'The Devil' does.

So, i'm confused as to why most people believe in the God that kill's people, and not the Satan that's sitting down in 'Hell', playing his 360 and having a can of coke.

They also seem to mention that when Moses went and collected the 10 commandments, he came back to see his people worshiping a Statue of a Goat. In return, he smashed the Goat, and punished his people for it. If the 'God' was real and he 'created' us, he created us will free will, and here the bible contridicts itself.

Also, if this 'God', is real, why did he make his 'son' be born in horrible living conditions. I thought he would have given him the best condtions possible.

Maybe this is just me ranting though. Sorry if i've offended anyone.

What do you mean they do not believe in Satan? If you mean they do not worship him, that is hardly surprising. There is no (serious) religious text supporting the worship of Satan, so why would people worship him?

They also seem to mention that when Moses went and collected the 10 commandments, he came back to see his people worshiping a Statue of a Goat. There is no contradiction here. The Bible is quite clear worshiping idols is not allowed. That God allows people to choose unacceptable things is no different than the legal system allowing people to choose to break the law.

Also, if this 'God', is real, why did he make his 'son' be born in horrible living conditions. I thought he would have given him the best condtions possible.

Who said they were horrible living conditions? "Horrible" is bound to be largely an matter of opinion, but it is not as though the Bible said Jesus was born into poverty. There is no mention of him starving, being abused, neglected or anything else that was bad. Not being born in a palace is not the same as being "born in horrible living conditions."

There are plenty of criticisms which can be raised against the Christian god, but none of these hold merit.

You, are arguing a mere detail, a mistake in wording, lost in translation, not the point he is trying to make.

I agree.

From a christian standpoint, Satan is who they think the god they worship is, God is who they think Satan is.
