Hello,
As a vocal performance major i am subjected to having to learn millions of different styles of music, and was wondering what ya'lls favorite styles are to sing... Mine, opera. (Career goal smile ) Even if i hate it while trying to learn it, the overall satisfaction when it is performed properly is worth the millons of hours in the practice rooms.

After opera i'd say my next favorite would be Musical Theater, purely cause its easy to learn and perform (Its in english, and there are tons of examples of people performing it! )

My least favorite probably would be the classical peices that words just dont make sense! (AKA Handel's "Come and Trip it" and "Let us be glad" (dont remember the composer off the top of my head)

Anyways, discuss your favorite styles to sing!

Hi, I too am a singer and a good one at that, I have never really tryed to sing any Christian songs, but I do sing a variaty of other genres. I joined this guild because I would call myself a "Christian," and I LOVE to sing!

Well... Since I'm choir I sing lots of classical pieces.. I enjoy doing some and this year will be my first year to do a latin or italian piece. I also enjoy singing contemporary music.

I have never sang opera or musical theatre so I dont know what to say about it =/.

I love singing CCM songs. Contemporary Christian Music. And Urban Gospel. In my school Choir we're all about eclecticism...so we do Traditional Jamaican Folk songs, classical pieces, Jazz, Reggae, Gospel, Inspirational...I love singing so much, I love them ALL. LOL But my fave genre is CCM.

I like rock, pop, country, blues, jazz, swing, alternative, etc. In other words, I'm very eclectic. I don't like rap or music with excessive swearing.

Hm... Maybe Musical Theatre.

But I love just sitting at home and singing anything that pops onto the playlist of mine. Christian music especially.
