Okay, so our first discussion topic seems to still be going strong. So I thought I'd add another log to the fire.
DISCUSSION: WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS OF KNIGHTS/SQUIRES/PAGES IN THE GAME?
This topic can go a lot of different ways from discussions about what you think a knight/squire should be to how you personally feel about the whole belted "establishment" in the game. Take it however and post what you want.
From what I can gather from other posts here on the guild, our opinions will vary WILDLY on this one, so remember to not get too snipey with each other.

I am a Page and I ******** love it,sure I have to do a bit of praising to my lord every now and then, ofcourse the Page duties of helping them gear up. But a little work and butt kissing, got me a free 4pt chain shirt, with my soon to be 6th warrior,it'll be a 5pt chain, and with the padded armor vest my lord got me,6points mutha fackas. Plus all the noodle, fast food, cores and nicely made weapons I want. Being a Page rules,as for gameplay goes,it can be a little annoying when we are opposite teams and he yells "DAN!! Get my arrows for me!" and I do so,because I'm a Page

As a squire, the only thing i have recieved form my knight is a mentor for multiple perspectives of the game. My knight has been nelted for serpent and crown, but he is capable in other areas. He has been a great teacher to me. as for gameplay it doesn't really affect me other than him volunteering me to help out alot.

Those, too. Sorry for not mentioning it. There's almost none here in EH, so I just didn't think to include in my original post.

Wow, no MaA's? How Curious.
Well, i think that the idea of a belt line is both good and bad.
It gives people a chance to teach and help newer players advance in the game and get their feet wet and engraved into the game. HOWEVER, i think it is completely retarded that some people will not help people outside of their beltline. The good of the game should be above all else, not your personal clique.
I'll probably add onto this when I don't have two woman telling me to get up and do stuff. Amtgard woman, pushy, eh?

I just picked up a MaA this last event. I have a page as well. I view them as an extended part of my family, and I tell them to come to me if they think I can help them with anything. My biggest aspect is service, lower is the arts, and below that the fighting part. I took them so that I could give them the knowledge I've got, but I end up learning from them more often than not! sweatdrop

From what I've seen, the older kingdoms have fewer pages and MaA's than the newer ones because we have more knights to go around. If all our knights had squires, who had pages, who had MaA's, then you wouldn't be able to turn without tripping over someone's beltline.
I agree that not helping outside a beltline is stupid. I've run into a lot of different styles of how beltlines are run and that's one of the most annoying, especially in an area/chapter that has few knights.
How a beltline is run is up to the knight, which leads to a lot of different "styles" out there. I've got some pretty specific rules in my beltline that others don't. I made sure both my squires were aware and agreed with the rules before they accepted.

You're a Knight? I did not know that.
Also Man at arms are higher than pages. biggrin Just making sure you meant that in your description. Personally, im hella glad that im no longer a page, Yellow looks kinda odd with my typical blue and white Garb for my household (Greater Than).

Yeah, I'm one of three knights here on Gaia (the other two are less active on the forums). I try not to mention it too much when I post because it can easily start to make me sound "uppity".
As for page/MaA, I was honestly ignorant on the subject. We pretty much do Knight-Squire-Page down here. I honestly have almost no experience with Man-at-Arms.
To appease my curiosity (and end my ignorance), I just looked it up on Amt-wiki and they say MaA and page are the same, but are often used differently by different areas.
How is it in your area, Antiprep?

In NeverWinter, The Chain of belt line works like this:
Knight> Squire > MaA> Page.
Knights can take Squires and MaA.
Squire can take a MaA.
MaA can take nothing.
HOWEVER, When it comes to titles, such as Lord, Lady, Baron, Duchess, that sorta stuff, you may take a page. Pages are title specific and only when you have a title higher than Esquire may you take one. One Page per title. I didn't know it was different in other places.
What kind of knight are you? And what kingdom are you in?

My belt is for Serpent, in the Emerald Hills.
Just checked the EH Corpora and page and MaA aren't mentioned anywhere in the entire document, so there seem to be no set rules for either here. Do you have all that in your Corpora or is it just followed by tradition?

I can't find it. The only thing I'm finding in the rulebook is Page garb requirements and that they can't carry extra spellballs for magic classes. Let me know where it's at. I want to read that.
