You step into a sunny room smelling of fresh tatami mats one morning. In one corner is a low table with some empty sake sets that remind you of what you might find in a room at a teahouse. There are low mats organized neatly throughout the center of the room where students will one day sit. In front of the screened windows is a raised area in the floor, this is where the teacher sits. "May i help you?" A soft voice come from behind you. It is a young geisha, no more then 22 standing behind you. She is the teacher. Bowing low to the teacher you ask what class is being taught here. Welcome to a class that will teach how everything from speaking to pouring sake. While such things may not seem important it can mean the difference between a successful career or a rather deary life. Here you will find a new grace within yourself to help you transform into the magnificent creature that is a geisha ALL NEW GIRLS AND GIRLS THAT HAVE BEEN ABSENT FOR AWHILE!!!!
While we may rp, that you get caught up by the other girls in the class, please please GO BACK AND READ! Im not so much asking as im telling you as your teacher i expect you to go back thru and find any of my posts and READ THEM. I will begin class once i have six students, but that is not a limit, please feel free to join at any time

Alright so im taking over Iyasu's post xd Past lessons for easy catch up if your new or have missed heart Quote: "Welcome everyone, the the first class of grace and manners. Please every sit down." Please do not talk to one another unless it is an exercise, or i give you time for open discussion. In an open discussion, i will let you answer each others questions and will correct as needed. This is a manners class so i expect the best behavior you can manage. Please keep your appearance decent, and be on time for class. These rules will be enforced." Kyoku snapped fan shut in her palm for emphasis. "Besides that there really shouldnt be a problem." Smiling at the young girls, she opened her fan again to use it. Quote: "Now this is how you should introduce your self to a new patron. Watch how i bow as well." Kyoku lowered her head almost to the floor, her fingertips in the mats infront or her. "Good evening sir, my name is Kyoku. Please forgive me for i am a mere novice. Thank you for allowing me to spend this time with you, it is a pleasure for me." Quote: All of you have done very well, remember to speak softly and smoothly, with a calm. Of course, dont remain perfectly calm the entire time you are entertaining. The men you are with are paying for you simply because of your youth. The older woman, the geisha, we do most of the work. Your job is to sit and look pretty, adding a girlish giggle to the atmosphere. So next lesson. We covered the greeting of the men in the room, but that isnt what you do first. When you first enter the room where the zashiki (party) is being held what do you do?" Quote: So when you first enter the door of the room you bow and greet all of the geisha first, then you go to each man and introduce yourself the way i showed you, then you find a seat and depending on your rank you may make conversation and pour sake. Since you are novices, stick to pouring sake and let the older maiko and geisha engage in the conversation. As for food preparation, you may be asked by a geisha to find a maid or the mistress of the ochaya to order food, but the geisha will divide the food making it suitable for easy eating. She may ask you for help though, one day, so pay attention when she is doing it so you can mimick her movements." An exercise of roleplaying customers and maiko Quote: I want you to bow, say your name, beg indulgence, then, because we are pretending you have passed the novice maiko stage, we will begin to practive pouring sake in a proper fashion. First though, practice your bowing and introductions. Remember, DO NOT put pressure on your hands, and dont stick your elbows out so you look like a bird." Quote: Now when you bow, your elbow should be bent slightly, so that your hands are just infront on your head, like this." Kyoku bowed low to the floor, her head just a few inches above the tatami mats, the tips of her fingers perfectly straight, but the palms lifted off the tatami.

Tora walks into the room quietly and bows. "Please, if you may, I would like to sign up for this class. I am a member of the Kazenotanpopo Okiya and my name is Tora ((played by CrystallineTiger))," She asks kindly, introducing herself.

So i am Mr. Ichiro, and you have walked into the room where i am awaiting geisha. What do you say to me? Each of you go ahead and demonstrate."
