During the epitaph, we see a look into the future of dollhouse. After researching online, I found that Joss stated this was the undeniable future for the series, but getting there is not all it appears to be. I for one was a little depressed to see the normal apocalyptic end to the dollhouse idea, and at the same time, I was excited to find that Echo is not what she appears to be. Nor is anyone else.

I ask, thoughts, opinions, and theories based on the epitaph.

Epitaph One is an EPIC episode. It takes the show to a whole new level. Having an episode 5 years in the future with none of the main cast as is guttsy. It was confusing, but good. And in a way I think tis show had to lead to an apocalypse. I mean with the technology to erase personalities and such it was bound to end up in the wrong hands and...well...apcoalypse.

It was one of the best hours of television for me. It shows us where they are heading but doesn't give too much away. That way, we know what is going to happen but we have no idea how. Destination with no roadmap. cool

But as to how it develops into a virus? I have no idea. I guess because it is a cerebral interference its not so far out of reach as a tumor or something but the set up made it seem as if the characters were zombie like biting to spread the "virus".

I never really thought of it as a 'virus'. It spreads by touch right? Either by touching someone who is infected or by touching a machine... I had a theory where it had something to do with electricity, or you know, electrical impulses.

I don't think so. I think it is spread by machines that have signals like the Episode 'Gray Hour' in Which Echo is remotely Wiped out during a phone Conversation.

That's Why people in the episode were afraid of tech that has bars like phone and The radio.

A truly amazing episode when I first watched it on the TV. Watching an episode that was in the future with none of the original cast in the future was different. Some parts I didn't quite understand but it was still a really good episode.
