Okay I draw art will I think? Alot of people think my art is cool but in my point of view I kinda suck since I only know how to do some styles and I'm still learning. Can you judge theses pictures? I know some are done in line paper sorry people -.- ran out of white paper at that time or I did it in class.

As I'm looking at these pictures, I notice that your characters generally look... stiff. The bodies are typically standing up straight or perfectly horizontal (which makes them look rather unnatural and dynamicly-disabled). See if you could create more movement within your art pieces and when you create a character, do not make the spine a straight line. Spines are actually "S" shaped if you include the neck. Some type of curve is in order xp Spine tutorial here to help you out! [Link]

I find the second picture to have a strange composition as well since I don't feel a sense of balance and that some of the visuals look odd since it's only done in granite, HB pencil.

One last final thing I think you should work on is folds in clothing. You seem to create creases in random places when it comes to pants or shirts so they look rather scarred up then baggy. Here's a great tutorial from DeviantART that may help you out! [Link]

Hope my critique has helped you! And good luck with your drawing skills biggrin

I think your anatomy in general could use some work. Instead of trying to learn anatomy from Sonic characters and anime, try drawing from life. I started drawing from anime, and it's taken me a really long time to unlearn disproportionate anime people. I still draw my eyes too big.

If you're unsure on how a joint or a pose looks, find a mirror and model it yourself.

Also, I noticed that your characters' lower legs are longer than their thighs. They should be more equal in length. Actually, I think the thigh would be just slightly longer. Same deal with arms.

Your drawings seem to be lacking slightly in depth. I think clothing folds and maybe a bit of shading would help there. Clothing folds really aren't that difficult to sketch. Draw lines in the direction the fabric is being pulled, either by the body part underneath or by gravity.

Your heads look a little flat on top to me. Eyes are in the center of the face, but Sonic characters are very stylized, and have more in the way of forehead, which means the eyes look lower.

In the third picture, Sonic's crotch/hips seem to be completely missing. From the angle the picture is at, the shirt shouldn't cover that completely

Hands could use work. Use your own hands for reference. Or find a photo of a hand and use that. Hands are exceedingly difficult (I hate drawing hands), but practice is really the only way to improve.

I'd type some more, but I'm tired and have a headache. And I think I've ranted enough for now. o___o

Also, self-depreciation will not help you get better. Just keep practicing, kay?

I know but I have to admit thats what practice is for. Thanks for the tips, I'm still learning.
