The Cards

I. Character Cards
A. Character cards are who you are. Typically only one per deck; however, some go together, such as Dark Paladin with Paladin. One must be out at all times; if a certain 'pay cost', determined by the card, is paid, you may randomly switch to another card. If there is only one other card, then you must choose that one if you pay the 'pay cost'.
B. Some character cards may have abilities that are printed on the card. For example, Valgaror the Vicious has the ability to choose an equipment card from the deck, and then reshuffle the deck afterwards. This may only be used once, upon playing the card, and only if the player wishes to. There may also be other benefits - or negative side effects. For example, the Suzy the Mime card grants a bonus to total health when it's played - which is taken away when you switch to another character card - but also requires two mana to be spent every turn in order to keep this bonus while the card is out.
C. Some cards may force another player to switch their character card, which are only applicable if the player has multiple character cards.
D. Some attack cards are character specific. See "Attack Cards".

II. Attack Cards
A. All attack cards require mana, from a simple sword slash to even the most complicated of spells. For example, Perseverence's Descent costs a single neutral mana, whereas Animus Pulsus costs seven good mana, and a single chaotic one.
B. Character specific attacks are specific to a single character. While any character can use Sword Slash, only the Emperor can use Perseverence's Descent. Usually printed on the attack card.

III. Mana
A. There are five types of mana - chaotic, lawful, good, evil, and neutral.

IV. Modifier Cards
A. These cards allow you to bypass certain rules. They can either change the character card you're currently use, or they may be used on action cards.
B. Action Modifiers generally allow for extra damage to be done, or to lower the mana cost.
C. Character Modifiers can do any number of things, such as allowing that character to use 'banned' attacks, such as Alnette using Perseverence or Drathi to use Dark Excalibur.

V. Character-Specific and Banned Cards
A. Examples of character specific attacks are Perseverence, Dark Excalibur, and Suzy's Rosaries. These are limited to that specific character.
B. In addition, characters may have specific types of attack they cannot use. The Emperor, for example, may not use swords or any form of magic other than Praise the Empress. Scribbler may not use any forms of weaponry, but has many forms of magic specific to her. Et cetera.

Mechanics:

Casting

-In the Battledome there are two sources of power that allow combatants to cast spells and summon allies, these are the Alignments and Rage

-Rage works as the basic fury of your combatant and allows them to use their own abilities to dish out hurt to anyone who'd dare to oppose them.

-Rage doesn't fade away forever, at the beginning of each turn each Character gains a rage point as per their upkeep. In addition whenever a Character is dealt damage they gain rage equal to the damage they received.

-Rage is used to cast spells as well as activate abilities.

Alignments

-Alignments work as the affiliation of your allies and characters. Each Alignment is divided into a color and as such certain alignments can work with each other and some cannot.

Chaotic good-red
Chaotic Evil-black
Neutral-blue
Lawful Good-white
Lawful Evil-green

-The chaotic alignments are capable of mixing with each other while they cannot mix with the Lawful alignments (depending on how you play)

-Neutral cards may be placed in any deck type.

Gameplay:

-Considering this isn't really a printed game (It can be) we're going to implement a system of drawing and what not. However first thing is first.

-At the beginning of the game each player will agree on who they will play

(mixed alignments, gladiator, Team Battle)

-Each player will then roll a dice to determine their opening hand (explained later)

-players will then flip a coin to decide who goes first

Turn order:
-upkeep
-main phase
-combat
-second main phase
-end

upkeep:
-In this phase you add one rage to your hero and untap any creatures, characters, etc. If you do not then the card remains tapped.
Main phase:
-The player draws a card from the top of their deck
-The player may now cast creatures, use abilities, etc.
Combat:
In this phase the player will assign attackers to do battle with their opponents. Each attacker may elect one target to fight, the defending player can either allow the targeted creature to fight or choose another creature to defend. Combat Spells and Defensive spells may also be cast in this phase.
Resolving combat
-when another creature does combat compare the attack stat to the defense stat. If the Attack is greater than the defense then the attacker wins and kills the opponents creature. However if the defender has a greater attack then the attackers defense the attacker dies as well. If the attacker's attack stat is lower than the defenders defense stat than the defender remains intact.
Fighting a Character
Similar to fighting a creature, instead of instantly killing a character though, subtract the damage from the Characters health and add the amount of damage to the receiving characters Rage.

Deck building:

Okay this is the hard part, Each card in this set will have a number (1-100+)
when you make your deck place a number (1-40[60]) by each card and keep this list to yourself.

This may sound confusing but considering I don't have a program that will allow me to make this game fully playable, we'll try something out.

remember you can only have cards that are part of your alignment in your deck. Lawful alignments won't have Chaotic spells.

You must always have at least one Character card in your deck.

Character cards don't count towards your deck limit.

you may only have three copies of each card in your deck. (because we don't want an infinite number of "BAN HAMMERS!!!" right?)
