Internal chronometer activated: BEGIN.

Electricity flooded through circuits, a power surge racing through a billion neural pathways. Sensors awakened, producing a flood of data---and with it came questions.

Who am I?

He searched his internal programming for a tedious two seconds, but came up with no answer. He still had none a microsecond later when his optical sensors came online and showed him his surroundings...

Fury stood once more upon the bridge of her Nebula-class Star Destroyer, the Avarice, looking out at the stars. She had just returned from her shore leave on Dathomir, which she had spent training her natural talent with the Force under the watchful eye of some of the witches there.

Now, she was ready and eager to once again return to active duty, destroying the enemies of the Empire and spreading its glory throughout the stars...

Later that same day, the Avarice received an encrypted transmission from Fury's commanding officer, Admiral Terek Rogriss. She sent it to her personal quarters, and arrived there promptly so as to not keep the admiral waiting.

"Greetings Captain Fury, I hope that you have enjoyed your vacation."

"It was very...enlightening, Admiral," she said, "but I'm glad to be back."

"I've got quite a challenge for you this time, if you're feeling up to it."

"Always."

"An Imperial governor of the Mid Rim world of Leritor has inexplicably gone rogue, starting something of a miniature rebellion in his sector," he said calmly, almost as if he was bored with the subject. "We'd like you to quell it, as quickly and efficiently as possible."

"What kind of forces are we going up against?"

"The specifics will be included in the next transmission. Review them carefully, and set course for the sector immediately. I will review the results of this mission personally, Captain, so be sure and give me your best."

"Yes, sir."

He was in a laboratory, the walls a sterile white with droid parts and bodies strewn all over the tables and floors. Judging by the wounds on the bodies, there seemed to have been a battle here no more than twenty-four hours before his awakening. The bodies were presumably of scientists dressed in white lab-coats, and security personnel in light battle armor.

He briefly considered taking some of the armor, but it would add so little to his already-impressive defenses that he decided against it. The door leading out of the lab was sealed shut, and the power necessary to open it was not operational.

The cyborg analyzed the door with his sensors, noticing that it had taken some hits earlier from a few grenades and had possibly been hit by a rocket on the other side. He followed the fracture lines to the places where they met, trying to determine the weakest part of the door.

Finding a suitable spot, he pulled back his arm and punched the heavy durasteel with his full strength. The door gave a little, and he pulled back and hit it again, and again, and again, until his fist finally punched through.

It was rather quiet in the tether of space. The Miraluka would attest to that himself, however this haunting silence was also relaxing, there were little to no disruptions. Nothing to really bother him. At times, the stillness would be impossibly infuriating, but at other times, such as now when he was deep in meditation, it was a welcomed commodity. And right now, he was reaching out into the bowels of space, looking for others whom were attuned to the force, gifted with abilities much like his own.

Usually this attempt was in vain, and on the rare occasion he had found such a person, they often weren't what he wanted. And even though it seemed like today would be the same, a search without much purpose, he felt a stir. Something in the force that seemed to be what he was looking for, or atleast a being similar to it. And so, with a sigh, the Miraluka got to his feet. "Between this and that bounty... Let's hope it works out in my favor..." He muttered, turning to leave his quarters, heading for the cockpit of his ship.

Rasati cut down yet another dangerous creature far below the treetop villages of Kashyyk. The further he delved the more the forest tested him, it was no wonder that Wookies had such ferocious warriors. With all there was to test their strength, it was hard to see them wasting the resource. A long trail of broken and destroyed animals and creatures of various kinds would lead anyone looking for him to him. Even as the corpses rotted behind him, the forest itself showed the destruction he wrought. Lightning scorched the trees, saber slashes as well.

A small smile crept across his face, knowing that the further down he went, the more he would learn about the Force and the more strength he would gain.

"So let me get this straight, Captain," said one of her lieutenants as she outlined the upcoming mission for them. "We're going up against what looks like a small fleet of Star Destroyers and support ships, without any assistance from other battlegroups in the sector."

"That is correct, lieutenant," Fury responded.

"How do they expect us to survive?"

"It is a test, lieutenant. A challenge. We have performed well in battles past, but few of those have been against anything more than an adversary of equal strength. Our superiors want us to demonstrate our cunning and versatility when faced with a more numerous foe."

Yes. The force was a useful tool, it allowed one to perceive things in a far different way then normal. However between the differences of a Jedi and Sith, those differences became greater and greater. And this was shown in the Miraluka's inability to sense the upcoming battle which the seemingly simple Jedi he had sensed was soon to participate in. On the other hand, no doubt a Jedi would have easily sensed it, with their odd clarevoyance. But it was no matter, it was often better to experience things.

But with a sigh, the Miraluka checked some drift charts, and hyperspace routes, once again pondering over one of the major flaws he had. He could sense others, yes, but not their location. There were simple things, like direction, but as for distance, that was an entirely different matter. However, where there were force users, there was always events circling them. And therefore, Isaac began to check transmissions, especially on news broadcasts and emergency channels.

Then he got something about Imperial Remnants stirring in the Mid Rim, and this of course meant conflict, conflict that again naturally called for Jedi. Or, in some situations Sith, but it wasn't as if they would care the Empire after Lord Palpatine and Darth Vader had been slain so many years ago. But, following the winds of fate, or so he hoped, he set a course for Leritor, or atleast the space near it, not quite wanting to go to the uninteresting planet itself.

The Avarice exited hyperspace just outside of the Leritor system, drifting slowly towards the blue-green world. As it did so, it transmitted this message:

"Imperial Governor Aurst Mios, you have been deemed guilty of treason by the Emperor Jagged Fel. Surrender now and we will spare your subordinates and allow you to defend yourself in the Imperial Courts. Resist, and you will be prosecuted with extreme prejudice...

You have six galactic standard hours to respond."

After punching his way through the door, the cyborg found himself in a larger facility, with several laboratories and a few administrative offices. Bodies were everywhere, blasted and torn from what must have been an intense battle. He walked through the facility, looking for a working computer interface, but all of the systems were either damaged beyond repair or nonfunctioning due to a lack of energy output from the buildings generators. Moving downstairs to the generators, he found out why: it was in pieces all over the floor.

The cyborg found the facility's hangar, and the carnage there was worse than anywhere else he had been. The bodies of many soldiers in two distinctly different types of armor were scattered over the floor, in various states of dismemberment. In the center of it all, he found the body of a warrior in black robes, and that of a warrior in brown-and-tan robes. These figures seemed somehow familiar to the cyborg, and has he bent down to inspect them further he saw a shiny, metallic cylinder in each of their hands...

Three hours later, a group of three Imperial II-class Star Destroyers, flanked by seven Victory II-class Star Destroyers, moved into sensor range of Avarice, heading directly for them. Fury ordered the TIE Defenders and Heavy Bombers to launch, and after they did so she ordered the Avarice to accelerate away from the incoming vessels at half-speed.

The incoming ships also launched fighters, and while these were far more numerous they were made up of mostly TIE/In fighters and interceptors. The two groups of fighters soon met, and explosions flashed as the battle was joined...

As he came out of hyperspace, he felt echo after echo of the dying pilots, each one screaming their last as they were torn apart in a fiery blaze, with blasts ripping them apart. "A battle..." He muttered, simply realizing what was happening, after all, looking out into space and attempting to realize exactly what was happening. With a sigh, Isaac sat in the pilots seat, calmly waiting, however preparing the self-defense system in case some of the TIE fighters decided he was a threat.

The cyborg knew what these weapons were, he even found that he knew how to use them, half-remembering duels and training sessions from a life that what not his own. He didn't know how he knew this, however, or where he learned it.

He ignited the glowing blue-and-white beam of energy, swinging it carefully around him, then bringing it down in an overhand chop. He then ignited the other lightsaber, this one producing a red beam. The cyborg stood over the bodies of the sabers' former owners, refamiliarizing himself with the weapons, before turning them off and moving over to inspect the only ship left in the hangar that looked operable...
