I was thinking, maybe we could have a shared photobucket account. Also, gaia is photobucket friendly for when we wanna link banners and such.
Things that the account could have would include but not limit to; banners, art related to the sniper game, images that could relate to sg (like a sniperly kitty I've seen before somewhere), etc.
And I thought one person running it and uploading suggested materials and images would probably work as well as make the albums public so easy access to content.
Apologies for being such a 'messy typer' :<

I also agree because it keeps everything in one place instead of having to ask someone else for them to upload it to their Photobucket or having everything spread out and make images hard to update without changing the links.

I dont think there's a point. I have a pb, other people in kroo have a pb. why can't we just host them there? why do we need an official account?
like I can have an SG album in my pb and have it be public viewable.
official account sounds hackable.
like really.

I don't have a problem with it just being someone's personal SG album that's public. That's what I think everyone wants. 3nodding OKAY. I'm an idiot. I was agreeing to the second part of his first post which says that "maybe one person should run it" blahblah. And that's what I agree with. As long as that person's up to uploading what people suggest to the folder, there shouldn't be any issues.

Pixie Saylor official account sounds hackable. like really. Kind of agree with this. Also, group account will probably lead to some sort of controversy about whether things should/shouldn't be in it. Also, this has been done before I am pretty sure, and it just died without getting underway. I'm gonna search for the account, brb.

To a point anything is exploitable/hackable/etc, even our own personal photobuckets.
If we shake with fear of the thought of anything that could potentially be exploited we get no where. The main thing about a community is that we need trust.
Though I understand the concerns and also how useless it may seem or such since we could just use our own, but it seems some people consider it an ok idea, though I'd like to hear what a bit more think of it before deciding if it's truly worth it or not.

UHM. my personal PB is hackable, but on the upside, I'M THE ONLY ONE WITH THE PASS TO IT. I dont think the main thing our community needs is trust because WHENEVER WE GIVE IT PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. We are a big community with a LOT of lurkers. I do not trust people to not hack it, because it's what has been shown to happen in the past. I just don't think it's a big enough deal to need to happen and if it goes wrong it can go really wrong. like, really, really wrong.

I said in the first post that one person runs it and uploads suggested materials to it. Maybe a small handful if needed (3 at most) being the picture committee, incase one goes on leave or such.
I unno, you may be right about it being useless, but I liked the concept when I was thinking it up. It sounded neat to have a bunch of photo resources available without having to dig through google or have people share their own doodles and such, which them putting in the bucket would mean they are ok with people using them for banners and such.

Pixie, there were several good points listed as to why already. here, let me sum it up. - We would like a place to store Guild Images - Gaia only shows PhotoBucket without setting changes - Currently, things like TinyPic are used - PB would have Guild Related images. IE- Images the guild uses for guild only. Not "Sins' Art Shop", SG images, like banners and front page, events, and promotional images. - It keeps all the images together in one place, without breaking links for image swaps. Why not use other people photobuckets? because it means everything is spread out, and if someone else wants to change the image, we have to edit it and replace everything. What about exploitable? The password would probably be in a Kroo thread. Users could request to have a GUILD RELATED image put into it, and it could be done. Actually, GCDSG-GameMaster has his password in a thread and I haven't heard much exploiting of him.

I'm all for the Guild Photobucket.
This way people can add the images needed for guild events and have them all in one place. No more asking everyone for their old images.
You can't exactly put porn on photobucket, so who cares if it gets hacked. Worst they could do is make us re-upload the images.

Worst they could do is make us re-upload the images.can put porn for as long as it takes to get taken down, which is long enough for people to see it. can also replace it with stuff that's not definitively bad but is still very, very not good and stuff you don't want people to see/shouldn't be there. so yeah, I care if it gets hacked, and I bet you some other people do too. was thinking, photobucket hosted by 1 person on kroo and password available on request to anyone in kroo but only the person hosting can give pass, and pass gets changed if they get de-kroo'd and someone else has to host?

So we had a photobucket account for SCAS (the beta testers) when the guild first began testing zomg related things that needed screencaps. It worked fine at first, but then became destroyed, so i don't think a general one would be a good idea. I would be for a test of an account available to crew though, similar to kroo and gamemaster's accounts.
