I tend to have a number of books going at once...
My "main" book is The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. I should finish it this morning. I'm also reading:
Irresistible Impulse by Robert K. Tanenaum, the ninth in his legal thriller series.
The Stand by Stephen King, the uncut version, 1,141 pages long.
George Washington: A Life by Willard Sterne Randall. Trying to improve my mind with nonfiction. The history is interesting, but I think the author is out of control with some ridiculous speculations.
Haunted Heart by Lisa Rogak, a new bio of Stephen King.

I've just started the 5th book in Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mysteries series, Dead as a Doornail. I love the series, it's excellent! Harris has a really good writing style that flows really nicely, so it makes a relatively easy read. Not a series for the kids though.
I'm also reading The Complaints by Ian Rankin. It's the first crime book I've read in a while, and it's really good so far. Anyone else read Ian Rankin's stuff? I met him a couple of weeks ago, and got my copy of The Complaints signed and a photo. Was pretty cool.

I finished The Lost Symbol and started a new book...a light "cozy" mystery called The Chocolate Cat Caper. It's not my usual thing, but I was curious because the author had the same unusual last name as I do...then I found out it's only a pen name, so I guess she's not my long-lost aunt or anything.
He's only a minor character, but there's a Detective Sergeant Larry Underwood in this story. I suppose it could be coincidence, but Larry Underwood is the name of one of the main characters in The Stand by Stephen King. I couldn't help but wonder if it's a little tribute.

The Stainless Steel Rat Saves the World by Harry Harrison. It's part of a collection called The Adventure of the Stainless Steel Rat about an intergalactic criminal and is far better than the first two novels in the series.

Well, Losing Everything was mildly interesting if you like reading about skanky men abused as a child that cheats like crazy on his first wife and goes crazy as an adult during his second marriage and runs off his wife. He also went broke from spending all his novel and movie money, got a desk job at 57-years-old after being a farmer and writer for 20 years. He also nearly died from being constipated for a month. Meh.
After re-reading King of Attolia, I think it's my least favorite of the series so far just because it focuses on Costis's life as in the Guard instead of Eugenides as king, but it wouldn't have been a good novel if Turner focused on Eugenides's scheming instead of surprising us with his schemes and discoveries.
Now Reading: Messenger by Lois Lowry, still Howl's Moving Castle Bunnicula Fight Club
In the bathroom for reading xp : Darkly Dreaming Dexter
I think after this last batch from the library I'll start reading from my own books. I have plenty I've been wanting to read that I already have, like American Psycho.
