I would like to say I am looking forward to this. Maybe on one hand. But I hope it is not too soon. I really want to support my kids in going to college and I hope they stay home until they are moving from community college to university.

No offence but that is bad parenting. Thats going to make her feel you don't want her there, if she drops out of high school and is acting bad I can see that but not just after she is done with school. My parents were horrible to me and started charging me rent when I was 17, they kicked me out at 18. They stopped me from graduating (long story) and to me it sounds your going to be telling her you don't care.

No sweetie thats not bad parenting, thats motivation her your child to grow up, most kids arn't out of collage until their late 20s so by then they need to be growning up

And on another note never call anyone here a bad parent. I'll let this one slide but another will lead to a ban for a couple days

My little brother who has been living with us for a while just turned 18 today. He graduated last month and wants to join the military. He's more than welcome to live with us but he knows he has to pay for his own things but he usually does that anyways.

Charging children rent after school is not bad parenting. It teaches them basics of living on their own and I assure you, it will be ten times as hard on their own, without or without that experience.

You handled that way better then I would have Musical.

And as for that whole thing my parents are like Musical. They let me live there rent free until I quit school. Once I quit school I had to pay rent. Doesn't make me think they hate me or don't want me there. Makes me think they want me prepared.

Hahaha thanks

Well my mother-in-law is talking about chargeing us which kinda pisses me off cause she already gets nearly 400$ from us, we can't afford much more plus what we need to leave plus what we need to fix our place so we can move out..

I agree with the "until you're out of college or else it's rent." If you've graduated college you should be able to live on your own by now and if you think you're ready to take on the world and drop out, I will show you what the world is like and charge you rent. You're not going to drop out and bum off of me.
