I'm a bit new at online RPG and DMing, but I've been playing paper&pencil DND 3.5 for a long time. This means that if I make a mistake while I'm running this game, you can correct me without getting in trouble. Please no swearing or inappropriate messaging on this thread. You should start your characters at levels 10-15. A good place to create a character is at http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htm . There's a lot of stuff on psionics there, but anything you should fill in will have a red arrow pointing at it. Others prefer Mythweaver's for char sheets. I won't do any complicated trans-dimensional stuff.

Hey Seru, I'm not so new, and know my way around, just have some questions. What Races/classes are allowed? Why such hich lvl chars? Why bother with their jobs and residences?

It's saru not seru, all of them except orcs, ogres, and goblinoids, basic or multi-class, low level monks are useless and I like useful monks, so I know their starting gold and so I can figure out how to introduce their characters to each other(they don't just magically happen to be in the same place at the same time at the beginning). Does that answer all of your questions? Sorry if Any of that sounded rude.

They could be born there, or the plot could lead them there...Million and one ways to have characters be in the same place at the same time, its just a matter of how the DM wants to flesh it out.

Of course they have to be all in the same place at the same time at some point, but I like to play out the meeting after the game starts, instead of starting with them already good friends. That's just my style- my opinion, so you're both right. No offense taken whatsoever.

I don't know about you, but I'd like to get on with the gaming soon. The only problem is Time Zones. I use U.S.A. Mountain Standard Time, but I know Most of you use EST. So the question appears: When do we know it's time to log on for a game? It's about 8:30pm where I am now, so compare that with your time zone and the timestamp above this message. Then we can decide when to meet; Day/Time. So if I say "meet at 5:00," but your time is 2 hours ahead of mine, you know to log on around 7:00. That's mostly it, but I know it's a big issue, so I thought I'd bring it up.

Okay. So if I say 5:00, you say 8:00? That is important information. Thank You.

Yeah, sorry Saru, I just spelled it the way I'd pronounced it in my mind, I didn't take the extra like, 3 seconds to look in the thread history to check the spelling, I'm a little lazy, and it was late if I remember correctly. I got that message at 11:38, I'm EST also. I'll PM you a character at some point this week, by Monday, guaranteed. I just gotta decide what I wanna make. That reminds me, what's left that the group needs? I can play most anything cept wizards.(I don't have the time to make a spell list for each in-game day)

Wizards have a whole book of spells, they can just pick the spells they want until they reach a limited number per level. Sorcerers Have a few spells memorized, and usually keep that list, but if they have a book, they can switch a couple spells when rejuvinating their spells at midnight. Don't take the ranger. I've got two already filling that exact spot. Luckily one of them is a druid, too and they count as part spellcaster. All the others are empty so far.

I edited the original intro, so any position still appearing is open. I havent figured out how to simply cross out, and there isn't a button for that, so... yeah. A spellcaster basic or multiclass is still accepted, but having too many spellcasters and rangers will force down your "tank" section of the party. Unless, of course one of them happened to be a really big dragon sometimes- you know who you are.
