Name of Geass: Distortion

Power/Ability: By default. it distorts the memory of the target, causing the target to not recognize anyone who they had thought/is thinking is dead.
An extension of it's ability is the ability to distort the memory/recognition/etc. that a person has of another. However, this ability requires that the user know both the victim and the person well. A verbal command is required to specify what is being distorted and can be interrupted by the victim while it is in use.
The same ability can be used to wipe/replace a memory with a similar memory. This is usually used in conjunction with either one or both of the other two. Like the previous ability, a verbal command is required to specify what is being distorted.
The effective range is 100 meters and requires eye contact. Reflective surfaces work on all targets within 50 meters (as opposed to only single target).
The distortion affects not only appearance but voice and other stuff...(varies and also too long to list... and mostly common sense stuff.) However, it cannot be used twice on a person, but its effects are both retrograde and anterograde (meaning extends backwards and forwards from the point of effect).
The effect can be canceled if the victim and the user are within 100 meters of each other and the user wills it so. Only then can it be reused on the victim. However, 24 hours must elapse between each use on the same victim.

A side effect is that it temporarily jolts the user's memory, making repeated uses within a short time frame potentially harmful for/to the user's memory. However, the damage is not permanent, just rather jarring to the user and can cause problems depending on the situtation. The pattern in which memories are jolted begin from the most recent and continues in retrograde.

Note: The user has NO control over what the result of the distortion is. Also, it is possible for a distortion to replace the distorted person with someone of similar appearance that the victim has seen/knows of.

How did you get it: From V.V. after Chrise survive the bloody free-for-all that would determine who would survive and gain membership into the Directorate as a Test Subject (or more specifically, Geass User).

Sample Use: Chrise sighed as she glanced into a mirror which had been specially set up for the operation. She spotted about a dozen guards. All of them had been sent a picture of a dead boy, the assassin that they had been warned about.
She counted down as she turned her attention back to the clock. 10, 9 , 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.... A set of flares went up in the air. That's the signal... Chrise activated her Geass. It reflected into the mirror which rebounded into other mirrors and straight into the eyes of the guards, all of whom had turned their attention to the flares. Chrise staggered for a moment as the side effect kicked in.
She leaned back against the wall and listened to the comm. A number of screams erupted from the other end, not from the ally on that end, but rather the guards. There were a few utterances of cursing and cries of confusion.
Chrise sighed and sunk down onto the ground, still leaning against the wall. Its the least I can do to make his job easier. She smiled to herself as she raised the comm. to her face.
"Please be careful."

Note: It has been noted (not in post) that Chrise's Geass is the (lesser) counterpart of another Geass and that the two combined would be a "perfect" Geass in terms of ability. (There is no way to combine them in that sense so yeah...)
