I celebrate the Sabbats and seasonal changes almost separately to my worship of Deity.
However, during the Sabbats I often combine the two. The upcoming Autumnal Equinox will be no different from normal.

I'm having thoughts as to which Deities I should ask to join my celebration. I would like all to attend but I haven't worked with all of the Kemetic Deities so I think it would be awkward.

There is one particular God that I am keen to invite but I have never dealt with him before. I have done research on him and feel I would be able to work with him but I was wondering if anyone here knew of a way to make first contact.
I don't want Mabon to be the first time I work with Him. I'm just curious as to your opinions and views.
Have you every felt awkward around a God? How did you overcome this?

Thank you. x

Last year was the first time I did a ritual to Odin, and it was for Mabon. I'm not sure if it worked or not. It was also the first time I did a ritual to Greek Gods knowing they are Greek Gods. I se no reason why you can't start a relationship with a deity on a holiday.

general rule of thumb, if you're feeling off about a deity, prob a sign to not work with them....

but i don't advocate working outside you're pantheon so only use greek gods if you're greek, etc.

If I feel off about working with a particular deity I won't work with them. If you want to work with said deity before the ritual, then call in meditation and see if you'd be allowed to work with them.

I imagine your own seasons are rather different to those of Egypt, so it does make sense to separate seasonal and deity celebrations.

I've felt awkward around gods before, generally when they're not well known to me through myths - if indeed there is much to know through myths. I was unsure around Sif for a while, though I shouldn't have been, really. Give him an offering beforehand - maybe at dawn or something, make it a bit of a special time. Just a small offering might break the ice better than a full ritual.

I agree with Kashaku in that a meditation and simple offering might be the best way to start contact with that Gpd.
