~~~Acre~~~ The port city of Acre, an area that has been recently recaptured by the forces of Richard The Lionheart from the Saracen army, which formerly occupied it. It is this city that the Christian Crusaders have established a base of operations in order to stockpile weapons and troops. In Acre's Middle District there is a large port. These docks possess many troublemakers and drunken sailors. In the Chain District of Acre there is the Cathedral of the Holy Cross which has a Templar on top of it and is the highest point within the world. Due to the recent siege the Poor District is still recovering from the numerous people killed. Bodies line the streets and alleys while the people fend off disease, despair, and the memories of those lost. The Middle District is more lively, in terms of both citizens and military presence. The area is under the jurisdiction of the Knights Teutonic, given to them by King Richard.The citadel's interior operates like a small town of itself.
Zero sidestepped along the city walls, roaming in the shadows in an attempt to make her white assassin's garb less noticable to the city guards. Once clear of the market, she leapt up a few boxes and made a one handed grab for a roof's edge. She caught onto it, and pulled herself up with her other hand. She crouched on the roof edge, following the guards with her eyes. There had been no assignments again today, and instead Zero spent most of her time settling minor street scuffles. She rubbed the streaks of dirt off her face and thought back to the conversation with Al-Mualim earlier that day. He keeps way too many secrets to be legit. Frustration against the man seethed in her chest. She took a few deep breaths and resumed her watch over the market.
Liam Hishianto It took a few days for Liam and Braydon to reach Acre, but they did. Liam, now exhausted, looked at Braydon and asked, "Well? Shall we enter the city and marvel in its glories?"
"If you mean the bodies littering the streets then yeah, let's go." Braydon replied bitterly.
Liam sighed and looked around for a group of scholars. Seeing none, he asked, "So, what are we going to do?"Braydon Justins Braydon looked around and noticed a bunch of footholds in the walls. "Why don't we climb?" Braydon replied, her eyes twinkling.
"ARE YOU CRAZY?" Liam's voice shouted in Braydon's ears.
"Nope." Braydon replied, a malicious grin creeping up her face. She made a beeline for the wall. She made a flying leap at the wall and glanced at Liam's sour face as he started to walk towards the wall. She looked at Liam and smiled as he started the ascent up the wall.
Liam Hishianto
"This is not one of your better ideas, you know that?" Liam shouted to Braydon, who was close to the top of the wall, "For someone who just shows up in Masyaf, you also have a lot of guts and talents as an assassin."
Braydon glanced down at Liam and flipped him the bird.
"When and where?" Liam asked, teasing.
"Only in your dreams." Braydon shouted down to him. Liam watched as she climbed over the top of the wall and vanish.
Braydon Justins
Braydon was able to make it up the wall with ease. She had been climbing trees since she was five, and she applied that to scaling a wall. It wasn't that difficult, seeming as she also had to have a good grip on her holds. She looked down the other side of the wall when she heard Liam shout, "You know, this would have been a lot easier if we just hid in plain sight, like the Creed states!"
"Yeah, I know." Braydon replied absentmindedly.
Braydon heard Liam's footsteps approach her from behind. "Well then, let's just see how well you know the Creed. Recite it." Liam commanded.
Braydon was flabbergasted. "Now? Here? I have to?" She asked, a hint of worry in her voice.
"If a higher ranking assassin tells you to recite it, you have to recite it." Liam replied, "You're at what rank?"
Braydon shrugged.
"And I'm at the second highest rank, well, just a rank below Altair." Liam replied. He grabbed Braydon's robes and said, "Recite it!"
"Stay your blade from the flesh of the innocent, hide in plain sight, and never compromise the Brotherhood." Braydon recited, her legs shaking.
This seemed to please Liam, because he let go of BRaydon's robes and walked along the wall, ignoring the stares of guards. One of the guards looked at BRaydon, who was watching him walk off, and asked, "Is there a problem, miss?"
To show friendliness, Braydon removed her hood and nodded. "Yes sir." She replied, forcing a grin.
The other guard whispered something. He looked at Liam then at Braydon and asked, "What are you doing up here anyways, and why are you dressed like that?"
Braydon didn't know how to respond to that question. "I...um...am a mercenary." She replied. Braydon had never heard of the term "mercenary" before, but it sounded like a good cover up.
"Hero for hire?" A guard asked.
"Yeah." Braydon replied. So that's what a mercenary is! She thought.
The guard waved his hand. "You may go and follow that young man." The guard replied.
Braydon nodded nervously and took off in a mad dash after Liam. "Wait up!" She shouted after him.
A young man stood warily behind a merchant's stall. He looked sweaty and nervous as he wrung his hands together and his beady eyes darted to every face which past by him. A beggar lady ran up to him and he pushed her away weakly, muttering about no money for himself even.
A second man, clad in a grey traveling cloak, walked by the sweaty young man and was grabbed suddenly by the sleeve. "Let go, peasant!" He pulled himself free but the young man clawed at him.
"Please! Tell me where it is! I must meet with him tonight!" He pleaded to the dark foreigner.
"No. You don't have any money."
"No-no please! I heard about the new shipment from a friend by the docks! I'll report you all if you don't tell me where!"
The foreigner scowled at the young man and pulled him roughly around into an alleyway so they would not be overheard. "Where have you heard this?" The man was weaping and limp as the foreigner held him up by his shirt collar. "You are a fool to try to black mail him. Filthy peasant!" He let the man go and spat at his feet. "A dwelling before the second to farthest dock, knock twice. You'd best watch yourself, boy or you'll find a knife in your bed..." The foreigner swept away into the streets and the young man got unsteadily to his feet, walking away up the dim alley.
Liam Hishianto Liam walked briskly towards a large beam sticking out of the wall. He heard Braydon's voice call out, and ignored it. He walked out onto the beam and leapt into a pile of hay below. Liam noticed a person walking into an alley and started to sneak after him, keeping a good enough distance between him and the foreigner.Braydon Justins "Liam! You jerk!" Braydon screeched as Liam leapt off of a beam. "Wait up dude!" She broke into a run. She halted when she realized Liam was stalking a person, and watched as he followed him into an alley.Liam Hishianto Liam clenched his fists together as the commoners lessened, and eventually came to no one. The alley was a dead end ahead. "This is my chance." Liam muttered. With his fists clenched, his dashed up to the foreigner and threw w right hook to the right side of his head.
The fight insued. The foreigner continued to throw punches as Liam threw punches back. Finally, the foriegner shouted, "Okay, you win!"
"Tell me what I need to know, and I may let you leave." Liam hissed, his fists clenched. "First of all, what is it that you are after, second, who is the provider, and third, where is it being stashed. You know what I mean."
"Ugh... Fine." The man held his hands in front of him as if to shield himself from any further blows. "It is the opium, that vile drug. I'd never touch the stuff but he makes good money off of it. The man you seek is named York. I've only met him once of twice but he has a red beard, a large man. I don't know where the goods are, he guards that secret, maybe one of his men would know at the den... It's a small house at the far corner of the docks, second from the end. Now, please, let me go!" He panted and kept his arms before him protectively. He'd had no notion where this man had come from.
He looked past the man who'd hit him and saw a girl following. "Please! Help me!"
Braydon Justins
Braydon looked at the man and shook her head. She glanced at Liam, her hood over her head, and watched as he said, "I'm sorry. I cannot let you go, as you know too much. You're done."
Braydon sheilded her eyes as Liam stuck his hidden blade into the man's gut. She heard his dying moans and next thing she knew, silence.
"How could you do that?" Braydon replied, uncovering her hand from her eyes.
"Don't look them in the eyes." Liam replied, brushing against Braydon as he started to casually walk away, "Now follow. the guards are going to find this suspicious."
Liam Hishianto
Wiping his hidden blade on the inside sleeve of his robe, Liam walked towards a bench. He glanced behind him as Braydon followed close behind. He sat on a bench, his head hanging lightly as to cover his face. Braydon sat next to him, mimicked Liam, and asked, "So, what have we learned from that?"
"A man named York is selling a highly addictive drug, named opium." Liam replied, "This York guy has a red beard. The location of the stash is unknown, so we need to do more research." Liam replied.
[Hong Kong Embargo]
A bearded man with graying hair that was plentiful on his face and barely upon his head anymore stood guard outside of a ship moored at the dock. He had a salty disposition and was letting the passersby know it with his angry mutterings. The ship behind him was an odd-looking vessel which was making it quite a spectacle at the docks. The old man was grumbling about chasing off children and had his hands tucked into the folds of his clothing as the sun set and a chill crept into the air. The wind off of the sea wasn't so pleasant at night. The salt stung his face, the wind growing colder still.
He was going to have to change shifts soon. York wanted him on door duty tonight when their regulars came by. There were always unsavory characters trying to weasel their way in. The old man shivered and hunched his shoulders, shoving his hands into his armpits inside his robe to warm them, cursing all the while. He shooed off another dirty street urchin and stubbed his toe on a rock through his sandal. "Little, shittin' devils. What do they think this is?"
Liam Hishianto
Liam looked at Braydon. "Okay, how about this? You cover the east and north side of town and I'll cover the south and west side of town. We'll meet at the Bureau to discuss our findings."
"Sounds good to me." Liam heard Braydon mutter.
Liam stood up, leaned over , and whispere din Braydon's ear, "Use your eagle vision often, stick to the roofs and only go on the streets if necessary. And get a good veiw of the city from any tall owers and such you find; they'll be useful." With that, he took off in a run to the south.
Braydon Justins
Braydon blinked after hearing Liam's advice. Mumbling about her eagle vision being non-existant, she stood up from the bench and walked towards the nearest wall. She climbed it, not caring who was watching, and froze when she noticed a guard walking along the roof's edge. She glanced down, making sure not a single guard was watching her, then pulled a throwing knife out of her robe and chucked it at the guard. The guard dropped from the roof, barely missing Braydon as he fell. Screams echoed through the streets as citizens screamed, "ASSASSIN!" and pointed at her.
"Dammit." Braydon hissed. She quickly reached the top of the waall and found a rooftop garden. She bolted for it and flew over the edge, the cloth swishing from her movements, and froze right in the middle of what looked like carrots.
"He should be here." A guard announced outside the garden, "Some civilians watched him."
Braydon held her breath as shadows moved about her position. With any hope, she prayed they wouldn't check inside the garden.
Liam Hishianto
Liam climbed up to the top of the local church tower. He sat at the top, looking out at the docks. He saw a large, English looking ship. "Maybe I should send BRaydon over there." He decided. He performed the Leap of Faith off the tower.
Braydon Justins
Braydon's breathing became quiet and shallow as the guards walked away. With a sigh of relief, Braydon popped out of the garden and took off in a run towards a ladder.
Slowly, Angel walked through the streets of Acre, with her blonde hair blowing in the wind. The day was windy but warm. The city was big and she wasn't sure if she could find anyone that she knew. She kept walking, still into her own thoughts.
