I thought that this would be a good idea since I was thinking about it just recently...
So anyway, when did you guys start getting into Slayers or watching it or whatever? How about I say this, when were you first introduced to the world of Slayers?
Myself it was about three years ago, four this coming spring. And I love every minute of it. >w<

Hmmm, well I bet that helped out somewhat with you learning english ne?
For myself I saw like a few episodes on this one channel that I loved, it was the international channel but now we don't have that anymore, which bites. ^^; Anyways, after I saw those two maybe three eps I was hooked and had to get the series, so I did. xD Bootlegs... Gotta love em! <3

As is the case with many things, I have my sister Tuffinshorts to thank for introducing me to Slayers. Though she has me to thank for her being introduced to Slayers as well. Actually, that sounds somewhat confusing. Let me explain from the beginning.
When I was a freshman in high school, I met an anime fan in my civics class. The only way I knew that was because he mentioned Vampire Hunter D in class & I had been meaning to see that. We got to be best friends & he became my main anime supplier.
At the same time, Tuffinshorts picked up an issue of Animerica that did a cover story on Slayers Try, complete with Filia-lizard on the cover. She asked my friend if he had any episodes of the show & he hooked her up with the first season.
After I watched Vampire Hunter D, Tuffi took over the TV & popped in Slayers. After a while, I peeked in & I liked what I saw. The rest, as they so often say in the cliche, is history.

probably when I was about 12.... or so....

I was introduce to slayers about a year ago by Naomi_Saotome and since then I have been looking at other animes biggrin

I made a Slayers fan out of a friend of mine a year ago as well. I told him that it was funny and well we pretty much have really good taste in manga and anime so anything we recommend to each other is good. That and we pretty much have the same taste in manga, anime, movies, books, etc... ^^ It's really neat having a friend like that.

I got the second the slayers try from my friend for christmas (though it was back in october...... sweatdrop ) but i saw, i laughed, i got hungry from watching lina and gourry eat, and laughed some more.

It was about.. seven or so years ago..
A friend of mine had bought the boxed set of the dubbed version of the first season when it came out here, and when he was done watching, he lent it to me to watch.
I've been hooked ever since.

I was just randomly downloading anime first-episodes (In my country, u cant see many anime on tv) and last summer i found Slayers.
my first impression was 'whaaa...weird..' but after seeing a few episodes more i really liked it ^^

I've been a fan for about five years now-since 8th grade, when I saw the last tape of Try. ^^;. I ended up accidently buying the wrong tape, figuring it was an earlier one. Nope. >>;.
The worst thing is, I'm still not up to that point. ^^;. I have three tapes to watch before I am.
Slayers was also one of the first anime series I saw that wasn't on the TV. And still is my favorite. XD.

The first time I saw Slayers was I had no clue what anime really was (around grade cool and my art teacher showed a little to me and I found it damn halarious ^^. With a D&D feel and a hint of something else I could resist and asked him If I could borrow the uneddited japanese tapes of "The Slayers" and "Next". Thus began my Otaku over Slayers ^^.

Okay here come the story.....
Okay about 2 years ago I went over my friend Micah's house to babysit him, because thats my job. So he just put in the 6th tape becasue he wanted to watch it. I watched it with him, and i wanted to learn more about cause I thought it was awesome. So I went to a few of my friends asking if they have heard of it. My friend Jesse did and said i could find the tapes at the library. So that day i went to the library and took out tapes 2&3 cause they didn't have 1. I LOVED IT!!!!!
They only had the first season and the motion picture, but still I loved it. Then I found out there were other seasons. I haven't ssen them yet. But I will pretty soon. But I did all I could to find info on it. Then I stopped goig to the library, cause I did. and i totally forgot about Slayers.
Then one day about 3 months later, my friend came over and we were going through my music tapes, and i found the theme song i had taped with my karaoke machine. I flipped out, remembered everything about it.
Started going back to the library, printing pictures, etc.
Then this christmas, cause I owned nothing of Slayers except things off the internet, I asked my mom to get me the books and movies...
She got me the motion picture, cause i loved that one, and Novel #6, which i carried around EVERYWHERE!!!!
Then about a month ago I went to borders and bought Novel #1 and Manga #7. Now, I'm doing anything in my power to get all the slayers things in the world....
Yeah, thats my story......

Story:
It all started with my favorite video game "Star Ocean 3" (weird yes, but I'll explain). I became obsessed with the game and even looked it up on wikipedia.org, which is where I found a list of the cast. I found out that my favorite character was voiced by Crispin Freeman, and as I really liked his voice, decided to click on his name to find out what else he voice acted for. There was a long list and I looked into everything he'd acted in and among them, was "Slayers". I read the wikipedia article for "Slayers", and thought it sounded good, but still didn't want to spend any money on it before I was sure if I like it or not, so I went to Barnes and Noble and found the novels. I was hooked at volume 1 and have been tracking down all books and manga since, and just ordered the anime series from ebay the other day. I heart "Slayers"! I also got my little brother hooked on it lol .
