Almost everyone has one attached to their signature if they are a BG fanatic because they want the maximum number grabs on their tank for each glow, but do you bump them?
After all, they'll never know if you grabbed their tank and sometimes it's just easier not to.
Well, besides it being the kind thing to do and it only taking a couple of seconds to do so, there are a few reasons why it benefits you to bump that glow thread.
1. By bumping a thread you are posting your tank at the top of the Aquarium forum so not only is the thread owner getting exposure, but you are too.
2. Many thread owners check their threads and tap and grab poster's tanks to repay the favor. I know I do.
3. Some thread owners may offer invites (or recommend tanks to people starting BG threads) to those that post in their threads. I do and I've talked to other who do.
4. Some thread owners even offer contests to posters.
So, by doing this one little favor for someone your tank will get noticed and this will lead to a lot of gold with possible inivites and at least reciprocation from other players which could lead to your tank paying off even when you're not online (what we are ll hoping for biggrin ). Whereas if you don't, no one will notice you, and the only gold you will have is from that Booty Grab.

When I come across a glowing tank if there is a bump link there I always bump it. I tend to grab the tank first and then bump it though.

I tend to bump first. It only takes a second to do. It's not like I'm missing valuable booty time, but if I take the minute (or longer with time boosts) the grab could be over by the time you get done.

I usually do if I see a link to a bump thread above their aquarium. I usually grab the tank before bumping though, not sure if you're supposed to do that... I never knew why people wanted to have a topic bumped when their tank glowed, that is, until I read this thread.

I always look for a bump link and click it. I've tried to bump before grabbing, which I would prefer to do but usually the grab starts before I can get it bump. So then I have to minimized the window and finish the bump after the grab.

It all depends. ^^
If I happen across a glowing tank randomly while reading forums, if they have a bump link I'll try to click on it to open the booty grab window, then click the bump link and get a quick "glowing" post off before the game actually starts, then play the game. If I'm too slow posting (or if it's slow loading) I'll finish posting after the game, maybe with my score.
If I come across a glowing tank randomly but they don't have a link to bump it, I'll generally play it but not do anything, because by the time I tried PMing them, a) they might not even be online, and b) by the time they notice the message, and then make a post about it, with however long it had already been glowing already... chances are it'd be too late. :p
If I click on a post that's already been bumped and play, it just depends on how lazy I'm feeling (whether I bump it again), if they ask for score reporting, if I did well/horribly (and am proud or embarrassed of my score rofl ), and stuff like that as to whether I bump it again or not, although if I do, it's usually after I play.

I'll bump under normal circumstances, usually before I grab. This has caused me to miss the grab on occasion, but I'm not really uptight about that sort of thing, so I don't mind XD
If I'm feeling lazy and/or hiding, though, I won't bump.

i bump everytime usually before i grab if i can in hopes that karma will bring those bumps back to me and i go in a couple times a day and give taps and look for glowing tanks
i cant buy new monsters unless i make some booty off the ones i got smile

taps to all I truly believe that it does come back to you. When somone bumps my thread I really make a point to bump before I grab and I've noticed that people I've done it for seem to show up in my glow thread, too. smile

EDIT: I AM NOT THE PERSON WHO MADE THIS THREAD. THIS POST IS ONLY ON TOP DUE TO THE GLITCH. OP'S POST IS RIGHT BELOW MINE AND HAS BLUE FONT.
I tend to bump after I grab and I only PM if users are online and I remember. I don't usually bump when I found the tank from a glowing thread at the top of the forum, because... well, it's already been bumped, but I've realized lately that the forums move quickly and so if a tank's still glowing after I grab, I guess it'd be nice to bump with results or something.
I only bump after because I have terrible luck and a (probably paranoid) fear that by the time I get done bumping, I'll have missed my chance. And doing it right when I click on the tank doesn't work either because it loads too quickly and if I'm not on the booty grab window before the countdown is over it glitches up something awful.
