Java blinked slowly, then spoke. "Okayyy. I think we need to talk to the headteacher... oh, hey, Ava, that's you." he grinned. "Think you can find out what happened? I need to talk to Mum... she'll be cool about it, she'll just want a picture." and he slipped out, kissing Ava quickly on the cheek.

Netta heard the scream and, grabbing Becca's hand, rushed upstairs, her square-toed boots clacking on the parquet floors. She saw Java going into his room, and, realising it'd been Kara that screamed, raised an eyebrow. He shrugged, and gestured to Kara's room. Netta walked less quickly to Kara's room. "Hey Ava, what's going on?" she said. And then she saw Kara. "Kara?"

Anya came out of her room, because of all the noise outside. She'd been studying with her music up, so she hadn't heard the scream, but she'd turned it down for a second when the sound of all the curious students came through her door. Growling slightly, in a very inhuman manner, she opened the door to see the crowd. Curious, she turned into a tortoiseshell cat and picked her way through the ankles of the crowd. She sniffed, then located the scent of her closest friend at Hero High and rubbed up against her ankles. But there was something different. Changing into herself again, she looked at Kara properly and gasped. With a glance at Ava but ignoring everybody else, she changed into a bloodhound.
Blood, a recent cut?... an injection... sugary substance... with traces of... what?
She went back to her room to think on it, changing as she went through the people.

Bethan reluctantly came back, sneaking a glance at Harri.
"Why does she drink? To forget her brother? Her parents? How they died? Can we make her remember them. Riley would've hated what she's doing now..."

Becca followed, and when she saw Kara, her eyes went wide. "Cool." she grinned. "Hey Kara, how's double-figure life treating you?"

Mike groaned. "Ugh, that's probably it. I never really asked, I was more concerned with the fact that she actually was, not why." he grinned a bit sheepishly. "Riley? Who's that?" Mike frowned, getting a bit posessive at the mention of another guy in Harri's life.

Nick grinned at Kara. "Hey Kara, you don't seem too sad about this age-thing-ma-bob. Kinda reminds me about what Ikuto said about Anna; though that was kinda opposite I guess. Hmm. We should talk to Becca - she's a total chemistry whizz, she'd be able to see if there was something freaky in Kara's blood." He raised an eyebrow at her, and Becca nodded.
"Yeah, my total dark side." she grinned at Nick. "Hey Kara, can I have a drop?" she waved a sterilised needle she had just brought out of her shoulder bag.

Becca poked the mark, watching the rate of discolouration under pressure to find out how recent it was, before sticking the needle in smoothly.
"Huh, someone stuck you within the last few hours. D'you remember that?" she smoothly extracted the needle. She put it in a little padded case in her bag.
"Yup, I'm a nerd at science," she said to her girlfriend, seeing the raised eyebrows, "I specialise in chemistry, and astrophysics. That was how my dad got so rich." she rolled her eyes at the mention if her father, and brushed the long, fine blonde hair off her face.

"Oh!" Mike nodded. "She didn't like talking about them, so I know the story kinda, just not details like names. Riley.. she told me about her mom too. I wonder if that factors in? And her gym.." Mike looked thoughtful, trying to imagine a young Harriet with father and brother - it was hard to imagine, but Harri wouldn't have had blue hair then. "She had black hair before, right? And brown eyes. Gosh, it's wierd to think of her eyes different. Her eyes are so beautiful.." He said to Chris. Mike looked glum again.

Kara shook her head. "No, I don't remember it... You and Netta are going out, right?"

Java frowned. His powers were physical, not mental, but he knew when there was something wrong with his girlfriend. "What's the matter?" his eyes fell on the chest* "What's in that chest?"

Netta grinned. There would be words later...

Bethan walked back to catch the last sentence. "We're talking about Blindo? Sure, they're nice if you like eyes that can't see you... poor Harri." she grinned. "Yep, black hair, brown eyes. Who do we know that does illusions?"

Kara grinned, looking a lot like Java as she did so. Then a massive spark came out of her thumb-tip, zapping her foot. "Owww!" she said. Then, as if spurred on by the initial spark, the whole of her skin became electric, like she was a massive lump of plasma. Her eyes widened, as they became orbs of yellow-blue. Not good.

Netta's own eyes widened. "Becca! Get away from her!" she screamed. Frantically rummaging in her pockets for the Kara vial... "Java!" she called.

Bethan nodded. "Yeah, that's why, like, call her 'Blindo'. So, who do we-" she cut off as there was a massive surge of electricity that set off the school alarm.

Harold slowly walked into the room. "What do I do in a situation where the alarm is off?" He asked politely.

"Thank you ma'am." Harold replied, and walked out the door.

Mike looked a little alarmed [[ehehe, geddit??]] as the shrill bell rang.
"What's wrong?" he asked Bethan, not having been around HH long enough know the drills.

Harri tilted her head sideways, and ran into the building, following the sounds of Becca's shrieking. She stared at Kara, and the shaking Becca, and heard the girl say something to Netta. She chucked Becca's holdall by her feet to Netta.
"Do your thing!" she said urgently, grabbing Kara's shoulder - usually she would have managed to put Kara to sleep with one touch, but in her current condition, she was thrown back by the rampant power that had reacted badly with the afing agent injected in Kara. She hit the wall with a thud, and fell down, her head bleeding and unconscious.
