Prosperity Valley
Orith 92, 287 EA

It has been almost two centuries since the miles of mines and tunnels beneath the town had produced any gold. The prospectors and company bureaucrats had moved to the mountains in the far east, leaving the town of Prosperity a gilded shell of life. The deeper mines still produce coal, and a few brave miners still trek into the darkness to bring the worthless black ore to the surface so mad alchemists in the capital fifty miles away can have their fun with it. The largest manors in the outskirts are inhabited only by caretakers, their noble families having long abandoned them. Buildings rot on their foundation throughout the loose mining village. "The Loaded Barrel", A humble temple of The only tavern and boarding house stands on the road leading southeast to Gamjee, the capital. The only building not showing signs of age is a spiky obsidian cathedral in the center of town. Easily a hundred feet tall with even taller towers spread along its perimeter, its black encasement webbed with red veins dominates the otherwise completely uninteresting countryside.

A small clan of halflings have recently began their own community in an old gardens site, building hovels and cultivating chanterelle mushrooms, though they keep mainly to themselves, and haven't shown any interest in the nonexistent politics of the humanfolk.

The menfolk that continue to live here tend to do it out of tradition, and the vain hope that there is still gold beneath the hills. People have begun growing wheat and dairy farms instead of having them shipped, and tend to lead sufficient self-sustaining lives.

Lidia Hayden, the mayor of Prosperity, and Roscoe Tosscobble, the warden of the halfling, have summoned five people to the VIP room of The Loaded Barrel for reasons yet to have been explained to them...

--Original Thread-

So I was on my IRC D&D server and was like, "Let's play some D&D" and they were all like, "Naw..." and I'm like, "Dude." So I came to this forum knowing how awesome you guys are, and found there was no D&D thread here either, so now I am sad. And a little birdie told me to make a D&D thread so here I am.

I'm making a 4-person 4th level v3.5 campaign to be done right here in this thread.

I understand many people have ever done this, that's awesome. If you have questions or want a pdf of the players handbook, you can PM me on Gaia or Steam.

Play schedule can be worked out later, and this is -mostly- and experiment to see if it'll work, I remember the CoC game last year was almost successful, and I want to see if this'll work.

No character information required at this point, and without further ado,

CAN I HAVE FOUR VICTIMS, PLEASE? kthx.

"Yes, yes.' I LIKE YOUR ENTHUSIASM, SEBASTIAN!"

@Kichi: It does ring a vague bell, but I wasn't involved in that, so I don't remember what happened.

I still think that guy needs a bow that shoots rainbows to be complete.

God, a freakin' Pegasus that understands Common tongue.

Btw, his pegasis is a mare. He just calls her sebastion because he doesn't know, and...the pegasis also has a higher int score than her master

I would think so, considering that he chose to be a Paladin.

I've arbitrarily decided that three people is enough for the adventure in question. And if another person doesn't volunteer by 9pm PST tomorrow, we'll work with that. In fact, fewer people is easier to manage, so, yeah. But I'd hate to deny anyone who still wants to come, if they...just haven't seen this yet.

Also, I'm a naga now. How about that?

um, I know nothing about it at all, but I am open to playing?

is not a super huge need so um if you don't want me to it's perfectly fine I'm bad at understanding complex new things in a way that doesn't super annoy people and I won't be upset/bothered if you want to stick with 3 I just am willing to play if you need another person? :3
