It is the year 2130 and the world has become “unified” under the name Earth Alliance. Science has escalated a thousand fold bringing the world into what politicians call the golden age of the world. The EAS Thor was the first ship sent past Pluto and was supposed to be the height of technology. The ship was not only housing military personnel but civilians as well, mainly scientist with a few billionaires here and there. The mission was going fine; everything was perfect and operated above anticipated levels. What we didn’t expect were the aliens. After reaching Pluto we found a strange space rock that the scientists just had to look at, as it turns out it was carrying alien microbes that infected several members of the science team and then just began replicating. The people, they look human, but they aren’t. What’s worse is that they’re evolving: blades for hands, third limbs, climbing, and my personal favorite, taking our weapons and assimilating them into their bodies. There’s nothing like seeing what you think is a women in distress and having her turn around with a bone blade for an arm and a gun barrel sticking out of her chest that fires s**t at you. I am First Lieutenant Thomson Collins; you’d think we’d be better prepared for this kinda thing after all those damn alien movies. Apparently not.

Ship Layout

There are three levels to the Thor and currently only one has life support plus only our HQ has lights. The first level is the military barracks. Starting from the back of the ship you have the recreation room which has been turned into our HQ. The room is fairly large and has several beds set up along with a large barricade near the door which is the only entrance. Lucky for us there is an autoturret system so the barricade doesn’t need to be manned all day. Unfortunately we’re all still concerned that the aliens make it inside through the air ducts but I don’t think they’ve evolved that far yet. The second room is the kitchen which is just a standard military kitchen with another large barricade in front of that door that we have manned most of the time. Everyone is free to take whatever food they want, the ship has enough rations to last three years due to the interesting technology those egg heads created. The cook also survived, his name’s Mort, so everyone has three square meals, just don’t expect the food to be cooked with love, we’ve started running out of that. The last room before the stairwell is the actual barracks part. We’ve managed to get all the ammo we needed during the initial attack but we occasionally go in to get more firepower. There are also over one hundred beds in that room but we’ve yet to take it back due to the fact that it’s a tactical nightmare in there.

The second level is even more of a disaster area. We sometimes send groups up there but honestly it’s hard to walk three steps without discharging your weapon at a shadow that moves too fast. As you walk up the stairs, which puts you at the front of the ship going back, you have the sleeper hall. Because we military types have to be alert at all time we weren’t given the luxury of sleeping chambers. These are essentially just walk in beds that emit gasses to store you like a piece of meat for as long as necessary. In this case they ended up storing civilians and anyone else who got to them fast enough. I can’t tell you how many people we’ve gotten out of these things. The chief engineer is actually at the end of the hall but there are too many aliens to reach him. The second room is the electronic command center; this center will be our first target if we plan on taking the ship back. It not only controls life support, but every other system in the entire damn ship. The aliens must have figured that out because they’ve got an a** load of things in there. The third room is the real tuffy, the engines. I’ve seen what they’ve done to that place and it ain’t pretty. Sacks of god knows what on the walls and gooey s**t all over the floors plus an angry mob of infected humans. We’ll need to take that place too, but I’m not too excited about that part.

The third level, I don’t even know what’s up there. It’s possible the Captain and what men were left are still up there, but then again, we have the only life support in the ship. What’s worse is that the civilian chambers are up there, so that means we have at least three hundred aliens ready to kill us at any time we want to explore up stairs. I’d try and explain what’s there, but at this point I don’t even know, the ship doesn’t even have a blue print or reading on that area anymore, it’s like it doesn’t exist.

Admittedly it seems like we’re missing a bunch of things but that’s due to the fact that we lost contact with the other half of the ship. It was supposed to have disconnected with us but the doctor says it never did. The medical wing and a whole bunch of other facilities are on that side but we don’t even have a hope of reaching it until we have the electronic command center. The ship is supposed to be able to split in half using one engine each in case one side of the ship is in serious trouble, we are on the left half of the ship. The two sides are not identical on the inside which is why our side doesn't have a medical wing, poor planning if you ask me.

Enemies

These aliens aren’t really called a specific thing mostly because we haven’t found a name that’s stuck. However, we have managed to name the different evolved forms of these things.

Zombies: That’s what we call the poor ******** that ended up getting infected. They’re nothing special but it’s impossible to kill one without blowing off its head. Zombies are usually slow and differ in how they look. Some seem human at first and others are just too horrible to look at. Better to shoot first and ask questions later if you ask me.

Crawlers: Some zombies have developed the ability to crawl along the walls of the ship using a combination of bone blades on their hands and this sticky goo they secrete. They aren’t too bad but don’t let them get close, they’ll slice you open good not to mention that goo burns like hell.

Rats: These must be the basic form of the alien because there’s no way this place had rats to start off with. The commander was serious when he burst into the barracks and said giant rats were attacking us, mostly because one was gnawing on his leg when he screamed it. They’re fast critters that are as black as the shadows with glowing red eyes. These must have been the initial spreaders of the infection because anyone bitten by a rat that dies turns into a zombie. But if you’re bit and you live, then just go see the doctor, he’ll patch you right up.

Blobs: It’s really the only thing you can call them. There are giant creatures made from that damn goo that burns like a sonofabitch. The only way to beat these bastards is to burn them. None of the creatures seem to like fire but these guys hate it. We’ve got a few flame throwers left and thank the lord for science cause those babies won’t be running out of heat any time soon.

Reapers: Unfortunately our own security automatons went nuts on us and started killing everyone, not just the infected. These things have a rapid-fire machine gun for an arm plus armor that is immune to most of our weapons. If one of them shows up, all we can hope for is that they aim for the infected first.

Weapons:

AX-11 Assault Rifle- This is your standard military rifle that I’m ever so glad we decided to bring on the ship with us. It uses standard bullets and only jams if you ******** up loading it, which really shouldn’t be a problem if you’re a soldier. The rifle comes with a short range scope and laser sight. Bullets do fine against the aliens and if you run out of ammo the butt of the gun is handy for bashing in heads.

GEN Annihilator- A German made automatic shotgun that carries fifty rounds per drum and blows holes in targets large enough to rip people apart. Unfortunately it only works well at close range which is a blessing and a curse when facing the aliens.

AM-41 Eagle- The best-damned pistol ever designed by man kind just so happens to be standard military issue. It’s a fifty caliber pistol with an unique recoil system that makes it feel like you’re shooting a twenty caliber pistol. On top of that you can flip it around and turn it into a melee weapon that makes a delightful gushing sound when used on the infected.

The Big b***h: It has a proper designation but I’ve never met a person who uses it. What else would you call a flame thrower that not only has a near unlimited ammo supply but sprays ten to fifty feet depending on the setting. Plus, it has a freeze setting, kind of counter intuitive, and we never use the setting, but it can.

Incendiary Grenades- They worked one hundred years ago and they work now, thank the lord we kept them around, aliens hate things that explode and burn.

Reaper Minigun- Though it would be unbelievably hard it is technically possible to detach a Reaper’s arm and use the minigun they wield. It would be hard to control but who needs accuracy with that kind of gun.

Username:
Character name:
Age:
Gender:
Position: Are you a soldier, or are you a doctor or scientist? I’m leaving it open for people to decide though I’m going to assume most people will choose soldier which is perfectly fine.
Rank: This only matters if you’re a soldier. All scientists are corporals and the same would go for a medic unless you decide you want to be a medical officer which would make you a lieutenant. In terms of soldiers, you are not a captain or commander, don’t be absurd. It’s lieutenant and below but keep in mind that ranks aren’t horribly important right now as much as survival. Plus, a corporal could be much more capable in combat then a lieutenant due to age and what not.

Weapons: Though it’s pretty obvious that your character will have at least the pistol so say if you did anything special to it in terms of looks. That means that you can change the color, give it a pattern, or write something on it. In terms of melee weapons it’s fully acceptable to have taken anything on the ship to use as a weapon such as a pipe or something like that. I’m sorry, but you can’t just spawn a baseball bat and bash aliens with it.

Belongings: What does your character have with them always as a good luck charm or trinket. What did they manage to get while running from the aliens. This doesn’t have to be that long, it isn’t as if your character had a ton of time to grab personal items.

Character Description: Don’t make me barf with a really in depth description of your character but don’t leave us in the dark either. If you come up with things later on feel free to send me revisions, sometimes it takes a while to get the image imprinted into the brain.

Bio: This can be as long or as short as necessary but consider this to be what would be in your military record. If you are a civilian I not only applaud you’re initiative but think that you should do the same.

Profiles

Just post them in here, I trust that you guys are smart people that don't need me looking over it and telling you to change little things. I'll put all of them here though, just to be organized.

Username: Lord Gemini
Character Name: Thomas Collins
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Position: Soldier
Rank: First Lieutenant

Weapons: Thomas carries a rifle and two pistols so he doesn’t have to reload the first one if he’s in the middle of a fire-fight. The rifle has the name Lianna written in white on the butt and the tip has been made white which helps others see him in the dark. His right pistol has been painted red and is named Ally, the left pistol has been painted black and is named Katie.

Belongings: Thomas has a locket around his neck with a picture of his wife and two daughters but beyond that he didn’t get much of a chance to gather his personal items so until he gets to his locker that’s all he has.

Character Description: Thomas is tall, gaunt, and has the look about him that suggests something in life has horribly broken him. His hair is cut fairly short and has been completely dyed white. He has a scar along his right cheek that is a quarter inch wide and two inches long. His eyes are a dull blue, almost silver, and he has a bit of black stubble. He usually wears medium weight battle armor and other heavy clothing to hide the large scar across his torso he received from a zombie he mistook for a woman in need of help during the initial attack.

Bio: Thomas was born in New York to a normal family that wasn’t very wealthy. At the age of eighteen he joined the military in order to pay for college, little did he know that he would be getting into a large armed conflict I the middle east. For eight years he fought and managed to distinguish himself enough to make it to the rank of master sergeant. The world may have been unified, but that didn’t mean it was peaceful. At that point he left the war and began schooling at one of the many military academies that sprung up due to the increased need for soldiers in the world. It was during this time that he met his soul mate, Lianna. She was a woman working at a local bar and after a year of dating they were married, soon after that she was pregnant. After four years of college he was assigned to one of the first space combat vessels and promoted to first lieutenant after two years of service on the Zeus. When he returned he was given the worst news of his life. His wife, who had given birth to twins his third year of college, had died with the girls in a dreadful car accident. Out of grief he did the only thing he could think of to avoid going back home, signing on with the new space vessel, Thor.

Thomas sat with his gun close watching the barracks from the kitchen barricade. With him was a much younger private that looked to be annoying the living hell out of his superior. This could be discerned from the lack of speech coming from Thomas, and the everlasting verbalization of the private.

"Lieutenant, I was thinking we could call the aliens the Zerg. It's from Star Craft but it's kinda similar."

"Wasn't that a game that came out in 1990 or something. My grandpa ranted about it when I was young and played games."

"Yeah, the second one came out about twenty years later, it was a hit, then the third one came out in 2070 and we're still waiting on the fourth one, damn commies."

"Commies? Wait, on second thought forget I asked, just shut up and keep watching or I'll toss you in that damn room."The private suddenly became very quiet and the two of them kept looking on for a while before Thomas tossed a flare inside.

"Nothing there, but I still don't like it. Damn rats look like shadows, and there are still dark areas where the flare should be making light. ******** aliens."Thomas sighed and cracked his neck before discharging his weapon upon a few shadows.
