If anyone's gotten the announcement, Gaia Lottery. It's like basic real lottery. Now a new option for Gaia lottery is Power Picks. Don't get me wrong, I was excited when I first heard of it. But when I went to actually buy it, it was a cash shop item.
Dude, really, WTF?

Lottery was a good idea. Great gold sink.
Power picks? I honestly have no idea how it will turn out. I mean, it's not a bad idea... I just don't know what to think...

It was a great feature for Gold, but of course, they had to, "soil" it.

I agree. It was great while it was a "gold only" thing. Now that they're letting people buy 2 winning numbers with Gaia Cash it feels all wrong.
Why Gaia why? Will there ever be an end to your incessant greed? Do you have to get Gaia Cash involved with EVERYTHING on this site?

I've absolutely loved the gold Lotto until they added the power picks. It's a GOLD lotto, it should be ALL gold.

Erethia hath uttered something nonsensical! Personally, I think that it started out as a great idea. A super fun and easy way to get gold: a Lottery! And it doubled as a Gold Sink, which was great. I was quite content.
But then, they came along and ruined it. I grimaced when the announcement popped up. I mean, really, the Lottery was a sort of redemption of Gaia in my eyes. But then, of course, they add in Cash. It has to be in there somewhere; they just can't let things be for gaia gold only, oh no. Then people would actually have to work for their gold, instead of just getting some cash. Oh my. What a shocking concept, no?
Well, enough of my ranting. >.> That's my opinion as a good ol' Gaia member since '07! Listen, you lesser beings, lest you too become a headless sock muncher!

Making the 2 'easy numbers' cash-shop-only items? Pathetic
It's almost like they're encouraging and rewarding "cheating the system" with that.

Check the home page. Their totally advertising it in the spotlight. And I love how you have to pay cash for more cars. Are the new items going to be cash items to? They are? Really? Why am I not surprised.

I liked the gold lotto idea....untill the power picks D: I thought at first they were something you could buy for alittle extra gold untill I clicked to get one and it cost cash....WTF!!!

Personally, I think once again they're giving people that have money an unfair advantage. Shame on you, Gaia. You've already started to sell your soul... I thought you still had a heart buried under all that money, but I'm seriously wondering anymore.

I don't think they thought this whole Power Picks thing through as well as they could have.
1) Gambling is illegal in the US to people under the age of 18.
2) Gold Lotto wasn't a legit gambling game until they introduced Gaia Cash. Since Gaia Cash emulates real money, because it comes from real money.
3) Online Gambling isn't very legal here in the US. It's illegal for people under the age of 18 to gamble in the US, but here's Gaia!
Gaia is advertising what could be considered an underground gambling deal to children as young as 10 years old. (Yes. They, too, can lie about their age and stead daddy's credit card....)
Shame, shame, Gaia.

Gaia's been flaunting the sweepstakes/lottery/gambling US laws for a while now. Eventually someone's going to call them on it, and they'll be in for a big legal battle. Way to go Gaia. I'm not buying the line that they're strapped for cash, but if they get into a legal battle it could easily become true.
