Okay, I've got an idea going where the transformers, of every faction, are faced with a new threat called the Assimilator. Not much is known about the Assimilator's creation, only that it kills and 'consumes' every machine that lets off the faintest energy source. Transformers sparks' are like a buffet to it, and it is known to tear open its victims to consume the spark. The autobots created a energy source/signal dampener to hide from it and the decepticons have the fire power to fight it off, so they band together to destroy it.

It could be placed in any 'verse, though I'd prefer for it to be Movie, G1 or TF:A. I don't know which characters to encorporate because I'm not sure of the 'verse, but I'm not biased, so the application form for this is pretty much free for all. I encourage OCs, but I don't want the OCs to outnumber the cannon characters. I also want literate responses at least a few sentences in length.
And please, please, please use a spell check. I understand grammatical errors, but please monitor your spelling.

I'm up for suggestions on characters, verses, plot and the like! I want to get other people involved in the making of it, so suggest away. = D Feel free to submit OC's and cannon characters profiles, but this will not be the actual roleplay thread. Mention Wheelie in your post if you've read this whole thing. =] The actual roleplay thread will be set up after I've sorted out all the details.

Moving on,
The Assimilator is a mismatch of bodies it has stolen, eating the spark and linking the body up to it's systems (literally assimilating them entirely). Basically like eating the wires/pumps/systems insides and wearing the armor. Nobody knows what it looked like when it was first built and it's appearance is constantly changing because it is frequently killing and mutilating mechs.

I imagined it as sort of a spider looking mechanical/steampunk creature, leaking the fluids of the mechs it has eaten, so it leaves a messy trail where ever it goes. Sort of like a calling card.

I wanted to go for something a bit less.... kid friendly? I can see a lot of dynamic between characters and their previous enemies, if it's well played out, you know?

I guess if it 'assimilated' cybertron, it too would become it's body... it would become a slaughter pretty quickly. All the rooms and corridors would probably attempt to lead the 'bots to the original Assimilator so it could eat them. After all, it doesn't just kill them outright. And some people might even want revenge and willingly run down to the Assimilator... kind of a "last stand" deal.

It's sort of like a hive where all the workers are the meal. oAo;

I can imagine the two factions would blame each other, but the killing style wouldn't make sense... And the trail of energon would eventually give the creature away, someone would find it and live to tell the tale. (Or atleast get the message out)

...this is pretty scary stuff.

Alright. I want to get a few more people interested, so I'm gunna wait a bit. I can play Optimus or Megatron, but I don't want to play both (I've done that once, it was PAINFUL. On top of that I had an OC running as well D: ). I want people to start filling out characters soon so I'll design a profile in a bit. I'll probably have applications go in this thread, and make a seperate one for the actual roleplay.

I don't know if it'll take the memories... that might make it too powerful, because it would know where all the bases/hideouts are.

The autobots might design a virus that is activated on the Transformers deactiviation/death so it can destroy any of the remaining the memory files. I haven't decided on a plot because I want more imput.

It might be able to trick people, but only if the transformer is LARGE. Like Devastator in size, because after consuming a number of it's victims is does get larger.

Ands yes, you probably could find bits and pieces of whomever it has consumed (I don't like saying "eaten" simply because it doesn't eat them, it just breaks the armor and takes the energon, it doesn't break them down entirely to their simpler parts and digests them)

It's able to "trick" people by taking on a similar alt form/robotic form. It is a robot, but it's mimicry is not pefect. You would probably be able to tell if you got close to it [probably not a good idea. ._. ] It's fine not to mention the keyword, I just wanted to see who would notice~

I don't think it should access memories because that might give it too much of an advantage.

And I would probably have it in G1. The Assimilator lands on Cybertron and a few Decepticons initially space-bridging back to protect their fellow Decepticons and Cybertron, eventually calling in the whole Decepticon force. The Autobots following shortly thereafter (in Omega Supreme maybe? D: ) because they get a rather alarming warning signal from one of the Autobot bases.

The Autobots leave a few mechs/femmes behind (those will be the autobot roleplaying characters) who are left wondering what's happening over on Cyberton. They're called in as emergency backup, seeing that Megatron has little interest in returning until the Assimilator is taken care of. The Decepticon roleplaying characters will likely be introduced as the sentinels left on Cybertron under the command of Shockwave, because I want to keep the groups fairly together. I'm willing to make very few exceptions, but a good majority should be on Earth/Cybetron. Basically it leaves the initial Autobots in suspense (with nerves frayed) and the Decepticons under fire. They eventually band up with the survivors and take back what's left of their home planet.

I was reading this, and I was wondering if I could play the Assimilator? I don't know a whole lot about specific Transformer personalities besides the ones found in the movies, so a new character with little to no background might be good for me. I'd understand though if you'd want someone with more Transformers experience playing a semi- major character. I'm pretty good at making new personalities, though, especially ones that sloooowly gain intelligence as time goes on.

I wouldn't mind any universe, really, since the Assimilator wouldn't know that much about the place it landed on anyway. XD
