Things you want and need for the baby. Wonderful discounts you got on baby equipment or awesome gifts you got from someone else.
Right now, I want a rocker that swings either way depending on the direction you put it in and a bassinet/playpen. They are expensive in stores but I see great deals on them at consignment stores.
Also, never ever by a car seat used.

I find shopping a year early really helps you cut back on prices. Right now any place you go you can most likey find summer clothes at prices so low you could buy a whole closet full for $10 lol. I bought a beautiful sun dress for sasha at JCpenny for .97cents
As far as everyday needs like a crib or car seat those will always cost about the same ammount any place you go.
You are right, never use second hand cribs and what not but somthings are ok. I've never heard of a issue with car seats. Both of mine are second hand but mine are also the kind that click into place and arn't buckled in (they can be)

I'll probably find out in time though. My friend told me that car seats are a problem because you never know if the mom was in an accident and the car seat was weakened.

I got a car seat secondhand, but we knew the people personally (a coworker of my mother-in-law), so I don't have a problem with it. Our crib we got off of Craig's list, (again, my mother-in-law), and she looked it over before buying it... It's in awesome condition, too!

Well you can buy gender nuetral stuff lik Winnie the Pooh, Granimals, and Mickey Mouce

It's way early in my pregnancy though so I think I'll make sure that this uterus resident is here to stay for the full 9 months or so. I just read in one of my baby books that you're not supposed to tell anyone til like the 12th week because the odds of miscarriage go down.

Yea you really arn't supose to say anything until after 3 months, kinda like after birth, besides in the hospital no one should be around the baby until like 2 months old at the very least to prevent germs from hurting the baby

I am just posting all over the place. ^_^
When it comes to shopping, I am terrible at off season shopping. Need to check out my local consignment baby store, and garage sales for some toys for the baby. I can't believe how much this guy likes to play. I want a saucer thing for him, if I can find one he will not out grow fast!
Car seats should never be gotten used, unless your 100% positive of their care. Got my first one's infant seat from my SIL's sister. Used it for a while, till I could get my Britax. I love that thing. Bought an infant car seat for the new baby, because the big one was still using it. The infant car seat got return in a month, got a booster for the big one, and put my baby in the Britax. My guy is kind of big.
On infant car seat, I read from another forum, that they have an expiration date. About every 6 years, you need another one. Need to check my Britax for this too. Never heard of it, but thought I mention it. Have not researched it either, as for when we have another baby, I will just buy another Britax. Also heard "As for a carseat....before you go out and buy one, check with your local or state highway safety office and also with the troopers or highway patrol. Often, they have them free for the asking, as long as your income is around or below $30K annually. Most people qualify. Our local small-town office has a room full of free carseats, booster seats, etc. that no one knows about because they don't advertise them." Not sure either, but just getting the word out, if anyone needed one.

Thanks for the advice.
My brother Bobby bought me a bassinet and my brother Chris got me the swing I wanted. The swing goes for about 114 at Khols but at the Consignment store he got it for 44.
