The sun had set high over the neutral lands, giving the landscape below a warm glow to everything beneath it. Maizey let loose a soft yawn, surfacing from the cool den she and her pups called home. The sleep-inducing warm haze had already overtaken both Zahra Caira and Arielle, her two youngest daughters sleeping safely in the crook of the sheltered den. A smile lit onto her face slowly as she stretched, before sitting down beside the entrance. Despite having left Nero, and raising four pups all on her own--she was quite accomplished, and felt so. The eldest of the litter clambered out after his mother first, shaking off the bleary signs of sleep. Hiro blinked before shaking himself to rid the sleep, the assortment of metal bangles and accessories clinked against one another as he shook. The ear clasp in his left ear made it heavier, offsetting his ears slightly. But the weight didn't seem to bother him. He wandered out past his mother, remembering to stay within her sight as he wandered through the warm grass. Yawning softly, the eldest daughter scrambled out after her only brother. Keeta took more time gaining her thoughts together, the circlet bounced against her head as she stretched, an attribute that she shared with her middle sister. Her longer tail brushed against the ground gently, swaying at featherless hocks. Her coat was more magenta--odd pup out amongst her siblings. But it didn't matter to her; they loved each other, that was what mattered, right? Keeta shook herself out slightly, before following after her older brother into the tall grass. What were they going to do today? Sato glanced about, eyes drinking in the new area eagerly. How exciting was this?! He'd never been outside the southern territory, the neutral area was so... pretty! The younger male bounced ahead a pace, eager to inspect a flower up close. It looked remotely the same, but... Maybe his mama would like it? In his excitement to inspect every square inch of the neutral territory that he was allowed to, Sato had almost forgotten that they were here to see Aliana. But they had set out a long while ago, surely they would've found her by now... Hrm... Sato glanced back down at the small white flower, reaching down to pluck it gently. Mama would definately love it.

Spectrum kept a close eye on Sato, the energetic pup was bounding ahead of them, though he seemed more interested int eh flowers then running off. Plus, Fáelán was close behind the young pink one, keeping an even closer eye on the youngest boy then Spectrum was. Sighing, Spectrum's shoulders slumped as he tried to pick up Aliana's scent. He couldn't though, it was almost like she had disappeared completely. Or maybe she just didn't want to be found. He had hoped she would be around. She hadn't seen the pups in a while and Spectrum was worried. He couldn't do this alone. “Stay close,” he called out, sounding panicked when he realised the pups were quite a fair way away from him now. “Fáelán, Sato!” He trotted after them, using his longer legs as an advantage. Reaching them quickly, he grabbed hold of the scruff of Sato's neck to bring him to a stop, though he wasn't moving very fast. Fáelán would stop on his own.

Fáelán scurried after Sato, rolling his eyes as his brother insisted on looking at all of the tiny flowers before hurrying off to another spot. Pausing when his brother stopped to pick up a flower, he smiled, tilting his head. “It's really nice, 'to,” Fáelán said, nuzzling his brother affectionately before they set off again. Huffing when he heard his father call out, he stopped when Spectrum grabbed Sato. “What's wrong, Father? I was watching out for him. Plus, it's not like we've seen anyone around here. We're not in danger.” He stopped when his father gave him an annoyed look, which was just him not smiling, but it was as scary as a glare from most helixes. “Sorry,” Fáelán muttered, shifting.

Maizey's ears shot up, glancing away from her pups as she swore she caught something on the wind. Had that been a voice..? No... No, it wasn't possible. She had built her den as far from any other helixes as she could... But, that didn't stop others from venturing... Red eyes cast out to her pups, finding they were a distance away. Not enough to call them back, but definately out of her comfort zone. The green omega glanced back at her den, before back out at her eldest pups.
Hiro glanced back at his eldest sister, rolling his eyes playfully as she followed after him. Even if he tried to play it as annoying, he loved his baby sisters to no end. His feathery tail swished slightly, playing against the short tufts of slate gray feathers on his hocks. The bristly feeling was still cool. His ears shot up suddenly, listening to the wind. Was something nearby..?
Keeta trotted after her big brother, trying to hold her head up as high as he was. Even though she was the oldest of her three sisters, she still looked up to her big brother like he was a God. After all, her brother was that cool. He could do anything. When he suddenly went rigid, the magenta pup mimicked his moves. She strained, but was the first of the pair to hear any movement beyond their sight. Unfortunately, she was also the first to reach, venturing off into the grass, despite calls from both her brother and mother.
Sato giggled softly as Fáelán nuzzled him, returning the affection happily. "I's fo' mama." He tried to speak around the stem, without crushing it between his teeth. The small male had spotted another one--this time the flower had been blue--that made Sato smile. Mama would like that one, too! Maybe he could get a whole bunch together, that would make her happy. As he ventured forward to collect the desired flora, Sato let out a yip of surprise as the scruff of his neck as grasped. The white flower, upon being released, fluttered away with the breeze. Awww... "I'm sorry, papa.." He murmured, softly.

Fáelán winced lightly when his brother murmured the flower being for their mother. Really? Did Sato actually believe that they would find the pink helix? She had gone away as soon as possible, it wasn't like she was going to keep out in the open for them to find her. Still, he smiled half-heartedly at his baby brother. “She'll love it,” he said softly, nodding his head as if he would make it so. He nuzzled his father softly when it was obvious the male wasn't going to let them out of his sight. “We won't run off, okay Father? Me 'n Sato will stay close to you 'till we get back home.”
Spectrum sighed around the scruff of his son's neck, knowing they were sorry but he had overreacted. They weren't that far away. He nodded, still holding onto Sato but still reluctant to let go just yet. “Fmnk ooo,” he said, voice mumbled by his son's furr. He froze, eyes widening when a scent drifted across his nose. It was another helix. “mt nemesn fm!” He barked out, before wincing realising they weren't able to understand a word of them. Releasing his son and nudging him behind him, he repeated, “Get behind me!” He nudged Fáelán behind him too. “There's another helix nearby!” He said, dropping into a defensive position and locking his eyes in the direction the scent was coming from. Of course, if he had sniffed carefully, he would have realized it was only a pup but in Spectrum's mind, any scent was a danger to his boys...and him.

Keeta was too caught up in finding out who was nearby, to hear her family's calls. She dodged over sticks and small holes, keeping her nose up into the air as she tried to catch some kind of scent. Finally, she seemed to catch something. It smelled weird, and definately wasn't from around here...
Hiro had caught up with his eldest baby sister easily, being able to outstride her even by a tiny margin helped. Who knew what the others might be; plus, they were going to get in so much trouble when Maizey caught up to them.. He tried to get ahead oh her, to cut Keeta off and stop her. However, he miscalculated, and ended up fouling up with Keeta, the pair tumbling out into the grass. Into the range of a defensive male, uh oh..
Sato smiled at his brother, before being caught offguard by the order. Another helix? What if it was mama? No.. Spectrum wouldn't have reacted in such a way, if it had been... He hid behind his father obediently, half hiding himself in Fáelán's shoulder, his ears laying flat against his head. As a crash hit his hearing, he almost tried to peek and see what was going on.
Maizey had leapt from her perch once she realised both pups weren't listening to her. Arielle and Zahra Caira would be fine for the moment. The green omega bounded after her pups, managing to catch up to them quickly. However, she also found a male helix, not too far away, also. Maizey stepped over her pups protectively, her hackles raising as both Hiro and Keeta scrambled to get behind their mother. Once they were safely behind her, red eyes gleamed as she glanced over the male. He was young, but.. She blinked, eyebrows furrowing as she sniffed slightly, spotting a hint of pups behind the stranger. She couldn't attack a father, even if he was young. "May I help you with something?" This was her land... as small of a claim as she could get as an omega, but still, hers.

Fáelán curled around Sato protectively, especially when the younger male tried to burry himself into his shoulders. Tense and ready to run if he needed too. Spectrum could protect himself but if worse came to worse, Fáelán wasn't about to sit around and let Sato get hurt. He'd take his brother and run. He had a feeling his father knew that too. Blinking in surprise, he heard a female voice but definitely not their mother's voice. Peering out around his father's legs, his eyes widened at the sight of the mother and pups. “Look 'to,” he whispered, though in the silence of the clearing, his voice was loud, “other pups!” He nudged his brother a little, but purposely kept himself in front of Sato, just in case the strangers were violent.
Spectrum had been growling, his pose threatening before he'd even seen the intruder. Of course, when the pups tumbled out, he stopped immediately, eyes widening when he realised the two of them, the strangers he had been worried about, were mere infants. They were younger then his boys! Feeling guilty for scary them, he raised himself from his defensive position, preparing to appologise. Of course, when the mother came out, female and small but she was protective, the two pups were probably hers. She was polite though, her question unthreatening. Opening his mouth, he started to reply but his son's whisper cut him off. Closing his eyes briefly, as if for a pray for patients, he opened them and nudged his sons further behind him. “I'm sorry, miss,” Spectrum said to the woman, having to nudge Fáelán back behind him when the pup tried to duck under his father to peer at the other helixes. Damn boy, he was too curious. “We were merely passing through on the lookout for another helix.” Raising his back paw, he dropped it down onto Fáelán's tail as the pup tried to creep around the side of him.
