How do you get your ideas?
They just pop in my head...
I see something and I think of a plot.
A little bit of both I guess...

So where do you get your ideas from? Does something inspire you, or do you just think them up?

I personally get my ideas in very weird ways. Just today I thought up a quick drabble just because I was wearing white socks with black shoes! xd I even thought up a entire drama by just walking down the street. I saw this truck coming up as I walked past a ditch and I thought. "I wonder what would happen if they threw a beer bottle out, it hit me in the head and I fell in the ditch?" sweatdrop
(I'm a weird one)

wow, that's very creative and random. i think it's good to get ideas from those kinds of things cuz they tnd to be te best ones. for me though, i get mines sort of like yours but in diferent ways as well. sometimes i see something that inspire me and i'm all trying to contradict it, but i also get mines from myself, and also dreams. dreams help a lot.

I think I'm an artist in my head but my hands haven't figured it out yet sweatdrop .

I almost always get some kind of a flash of a picture. Either I'll do something and a scene will pop into my head where it's playing as an anime or I'll be people watching and something will come to me.

Sometimes a line from a song will inspire me, but I generally lose interest in those halfway through.

I've learned one thing, really concentrating on trying to dredge up an idea for writing never works for me. If someone jus told me to sit down and write whatever, I'd come back in a n hour with a blank page. Rather, I get my ideas through flashes of inspiration. I can never really tell what will set me off, it just happens. Often as not, fully formed passages will spring to mind with it.

I love it when this happens. My inspiration mostly comes in the form of words or someone speaking, but it's always fun when your brain actually plays the scene out for you.

Sometimes I listen to a certain song and it just sets the mood... (this also seems to happen with very weird combo's like a hardrock song setting off a very fluffy scene x3) Sadly, once the song's ended my mood dies with it... sweatdrop You can't exactly write pages in 3 minutes I must say. (I tried downloading and putting on repeat, but the effect only seems to come forward once... argh!)
I like looking around and just dreaming, thinking about things that might fit in a story that's already running or things that might make a story on their own... *rambles* It's so hard to explain!

I tend to stare out of windows and look at the sky, and just daydream. I have a pretty wild imagination, so thinking up of stories isn't really a problem for me. mrgreen

If someone tells me to just write, I can usually come up with something. ^^

When I come up with a first idea, its always very vague.
But later on, If I like the Idea, I build on it slowly.
I have a very vivid imagionation so I can see my idea almost like a film in my mind.
I play and re-play the movie in my mind, normally each time I do that I build on it a little more at a time untill I have a whole scene. (Yes I plan ideas like scene + the CUT! as well, how sad am I?)
It's a also good way of remembering the ideas that you have whilst thinking and searching for tham when without a computer or pan and paper at hand as I have a very bad memory, this was tends to work for me.
