I am being dead serious. This is a new rule, that while not enforceable, I would ask of each of you to follow.

Have fun.

When you get to the point where anything on Gaia, including the Mercenary League, is a responsibility, job, burden, obligation, then you're losing the entire purpose of the site, and the League. Those who want me to step down from the League's leadership state that I should put the League ahead of all other priorities, including putting food on my family's table and going to college or work.

If you're starting to think this way, then you've lost sight of the entire purpose of the Mercenary League as well as Go-Gaia/Gaiaonline or however you've come to know it. You're supposed to have fun. We talk, we chat, play games, RP, do some missions, maybe make a little gold. But we're not here out of some contractural obligation, nor are we here to serve some greater purpose. This is a gaming website. The entire site is one big game. If you take it further than that, then it's time for a reality check. Back up your chair, step away from the computer, take a deep breath, make a bowl of Ramen, and watch your favorite TV show/cartoon/anime/movie. We're here to have fun. If you can't accept that, then maybe this isn't the site for you?

I've been toying with the idea of taking a vacation from Gaia. With all the harassment I've garnered from many former members of the League, Gaia has come to be a stressor nearly on par with near-eviction and having my power cut while trying to go to college. It shouldn't be that way, not for me, and not for any of you. I truly believe this is the root of many problems; people take these games too seriously.

I only ask that every one of you take a step back, even if you haven't been disagreeing with what I've been saying, and look at your priorities. Make sure they're in order. Spend time with family, hang out with friends, play video games, kiss a loved one, get a good night's sleep.

I think we all could use a reality check, couldn't we?

Wow, You are the first leader I have ever seen that really speaks the main truth. I'm proud to be a part of this guild and to have meet you. Most of the guilds I've been in tell their users to get on religiously. Here you stated that you should put other things first, and I highly respect that. I already had respect for you as my leader, and I have a new found respect for you due to your sincerity and honesty. All that you have said is truth. Those who feel you should put Gaia before your life has no idea what it truly means to live. Anyone who doesn't know this needs to take a break from gaia to find out what it means before they suck the life out of everyone else around them. Thank you for this message it for some reason really sank in to me.

This'll be the one rule I'll try to follow, chief.

I can respect someone who cares about people more than the online aspect. You make it sound like we have no life man- even though I claim to have no life myself.. I can agree with taking care of your own life first. xD

tl;dr
Have fun in Gaia or get a life.
Taking Gaia seriously makes you troll bait.

Pretty much but then you can lecture people to death about healthy choices, morals and education. xD

IMVU isn't all that bad.... although theres' the chance you would end up randomly chatting with some 13-16 year old girl from a state that starts with an N, and they all happen to look the same.

BUT! You can fight in IMVU,
So, that always makes up for it. At least there when someone needs a slap, you can give'em one xD

Don't worry, we won't take our selves too seriously. If you are feeling stressed or like you need to step back, then step back.(Warn us first please) Basically there will be a point in running any guild you will start feeling burned out, when this happens take time to go off for a while and look at priorities. I know how you feel Gear, been in that situation myself back when I was the only active crew member of the UGMF and ran all the day to day items from everybody. Don't worry it'll pass and we'll all get back to that which is most important; having fun.

Too bad your detractors are having such a negative effect on you, boss man. That kind of bullcrap can wear on the best of us.

RL comes first, ALWAYS, and yes, Gaia is a game that is made for folks to have FUN, not to treat as yet another undeniable responsibility like most things IRL. While I think it's important for guild leaders to have that extra 'oomph' to devote to the complexities of RUNNING said guild, they too must be having a decent amount of fun/enjoyment with it, or the point of being here becomes meaningless.
